You’ll feel instantly at home after receiving a warm and hearty welcome from the owners and staff. “It’s nice to see you again” was heard throughout the evening. Madame Claude Café is the perfect neighborhood retreat where you are encouraged to linger and enjoy the evening. It’s a small, intimate, unpretentious space with a stamped tin ceiling and only 14... My american Friends advice me to go to this place , and describe the food like amazing and a small place with french spirit . As I am French , I was very excited to go ... and very disappointed. I order mushroom stuffed in cream in 'appetizer' to share with my friend, the plate came with three poor mushroom,... More

This is an amazing place. I found it by chance while searching the internet for places to eat in Jersey City. The menu posted online looked promising, but I was still unsure of what our experience there would be like. That is, until we stepped in the place. It's a cute little French cafe, easy to miss if you don't... More

What more could you ask for on New Year's Eve - at $65 for a three course prix menu with live jazz music MC was a tasty bargain. We had the cured salmon, filet mignon, and flourless chocolate cake. All three were delicious. Although the restaurant seats no more than 26 people, the kitchen managed to serve everyone at a... More

Nice location for an intimate dinner in bistro like setting. Food never disappoints and Thursdays have the added bonus of live music. Bring your favorite French wine and indulge.

Interesting crepe selections with filling ingredients based on national cuisines such as Norway, Greece, and Morocco. Omelets were over cooked and uninteresting. Fresh squeezed OJ and lemon aid a nice treat. Warning, BYOB and cash only.

The outside seats at M Claude will have you calling in to schedule back surgery. They are really awful. It amazes me to see restaurants not caring about client comfort. I stopped going because of the seats. I live just up the hill. I used to enjoy this place -- the salmon benedict is great on a Sunday morning with... More

This tiny French bistro is charming and fun. The tables are packed in tightly so don't imagine your going to spend a quiet, romantic evening with your date. Rather, come here for the lively atmosphere and some delicious French food. Definitely plan on going on a Thursday night for the gypsy jazz music from Manouche Bag. Remember to bring cash... More

The cons: can get very crowded, service not always speedy or professional (but always friendly), closes too early, no alcohol service (see below) OUTRAGEOUSLY still refuses to accept credit cards. The pros: good food, value for the money, BYOB (see below). While it's nice to save money on wine, if you did not show up with your own bottle there... More

Food was very good at a birthday dinner on a Sunday night. We got there at 6 and it was empty (tho we had reservation) but it soon filled up. It's a BYOB so you save money there. We were all offering each other tastes of our courses and they were all delicious. We hadn't asked for anything special but... More
