We had our yearly Christmas dinner. I called ahead and spoke with Michael (Fabulous!) as there are 2 vegans and 1 vegetarian. Sam the Chef prepared vegan apps, entree, and dessert! Everything was delicious! The dessert, a cashew ice cream resembling an upper scale bananas...foster. I love the pastry chip with sugar and salt (a nice twist that was like a cherry on top!) I could go on and on about this meal. We felt pampered!!! Thank you, Michael and Sam, for a very memorable dinner. You have arrived! Brava~ I will be letting all of our clients know about the 2nd Floor. XO!More

Living down the shore is great, except when it comes to fine dining. Burger or wings, no problem. There’s at least a dozen places within a 10 minute drive and they’re all great. The problem is when you want something other than pub food the...choices are very limited. We found 2nd Floor completely by accident while looking for places to take our son in law for his birthday. I read the reviews and was skeptical at first, I mean, what restaurant gets rave reviews like this? They must have all their friends writing reviews for them! I could not have been more wrong. This place, a small second floor restaurant with a bar and maybe 16 tables is a real gem. Michael greeted us at the top of the stairs and showed us to our table. Our server Zoranda was charming, friendly and very attentive. The drinks were all fantastic. The chicken liver pate was topped with a cherry marmalade and was the best I’ve ever had ( sorry grandma!). Wedge salad, burata, Brussels sprouts topped with goat cheese and the gnocchi were all just amazing. I had the salmon with the lemon dill sauce, my wife had the halibut and the kids got the pork chop and the hangar steak. The feast was topped off with the open faced cannoli, apple bread pudding and pot de creme. Chef Sam came out from his kitchen to welcome us and to see if the food was ok. A great experience and one I highly recommend!! It’s only open Thursday through Saturday. I do t usually rave about restaurants but this one has earned it.More

We wanted to try someplace new that we haven't eaten several times before, and i found this place in TA.I called to make a reservation and Michael called back promptly to set it up. It may be a little tricky to find the place, but...look for the MIX sign. We had dinner with another couple, and were seated in I think the only booth which was great. All I can say i that the food did not disappoint at all. We had the liver pate, octopus, crab cake and wedge salad. All of them were delicious, I personally liked the crab cake, and octopus. For dinner, the table ordered ravioli, halibut ( nice large piece ) , fall off the bone roast chicken, and a juicy pork chop. They had run out of the short rib, we had booked a late dinner. Dessert was coctails, the favorite was the black martini , and an apple walnut dish ( forgot the name ) which I think was better then the Pot De Cream. All of the plates left our table with just crumbs on them, even though there was a lot of food we could not help but eat it all. The ambiance, service( waitress was great , was not overbearing, and left us alone until we realized we were the only people there and they were waiting for us to leave, but she never told us once ), drinks and espically the food will keep us coming back. If you are looking for a new place with great food, drinks, service, and value, then you owe it to yourself to check this place out.More

Almost don’t want to say how good it is but that wouldn’t be fair to Michael and Sam. This place never disappoints - cocktails are great - tonight we had the crab cake appetizer and the salad w goat cheese to start - both were...excellent! Our entries (haddock, salmon and shrimp) were also excellent! The open cannoli was fresh, tasty and not too sweet- will be back soon and happy 2nd Floor is open this winter!!More

I have only just discovered this fabulous little restaurant and I can't wait to go back! I've been to many restaurants in Long Branch and the surrounding towns in Monmouth County. I can honestly say that none are as special as this one! From the...moment you enter, you are greeted by friendly staff and by the end of the evening, you feel like family. The food was absolutely delicious, but the atmosphere made it that much better. In the few hours we were there having our dinner at the bar, we managed to meet everyone working there that evening, including both owners (one of which was the chef) and even had some wonderful conversations with folks who dine there on a regular basis. That said, if you are looking for a quiet night out, it is also an intimate place where you can enjoy a lovely private dinner and conversation. Truly a hidden gem!More

After a much anticipated return after opening an amazing bakery, we finally had the opportunity to have a dinner with great friends at one of our favorite restaurants. 2nd floor always delivers exceptional food and service. Our server tonight was friendly engaging and made the...extra effort to overhear that we were celebrating a birthday to ensure our dessert had a candle. Everything from the food to the service is beyond what you can receive anyplace else in the area. The bacon egg and toast is a long time favorite, the burrata and the Brussels sprouts never disappoint. The short rib is hands down our favorite entree, but always try the seasonal options or specials, they do everything exceptionally. For desserts the pot de cream is superb and the texture and flavors of the fried croissants is a truly decadent experience.More

We celebrated our friend’s 70th birthday last night at this gem of a restaurant. Simply put, it is the gold standard for restaurants at the Jersey Shore. Kudos to the chef, host and staff, and a huge thank you for a deliciously memorable evening! 👏👏👏
