I went here with a friend for burgers and drinks. We had burgers with a side of Sweet Potato fries. Good burgers, good Bloody Marys. Nice pub atmosphere and our server was attentive.

We dropped in Poor Herbie's for a lunch (beer, sandwich and fries). The food was OK but nothing special. We did like the selection of beer. It was a quiet afternoon. We'll try it again

Order a grilled cheese with bacon and more like bacon with some grilled cheese! Great drinks, cold beers and great pub food. The house salad dressing is the best thing in the place - you may seep garlic out for days and brush your teeth 15 times but so worth it. A good local favorite and never disappoints.

This place is a Madison staple. Average food and average service. Good place to hang out for the locals.

We were seated quickly, but the waiter was so inattentive. Sat with empty drink glasses for ages, dirty plates were stacked up but not taken, he never checked in to ask how our meals were, etc. The food took forever to arrive, even though it was 6:30 pm on a Wednesday (read: no one there). When the food was finally... More

Family friendly pub with great service and great food. Usually easy parking on the street or in the city's parking lot behind the pub.

Went to Poor Herbie's for dinner for the first time. We were hoping to find a new place near home to come to often. Had to wait for a table so we had drinks at the bar. Service was friendly. We were seated at a table and waited a very long time for our waitress to come over. I ordered... More

We went with a large group with kids ranging in age. The food was fine and the service was nice and friendly. I think everyone enjoyed and they did a nice job with quite a varied group. The food was fine, but not awesome. However the overall was a decent dinner that everyone enjoyed. Nice beers on tap and the... More

I have been coming here for about 30 years. This place is family owned, and they are there all the time. They have great bears on tap, a bar for mixed drinks and delicious burgers, fried chicken, rubians, etc. If you also want to be on the healthier side ( why would you go to a pub then?!) they also... Had lunch recently with a friend in this pub. Had been there before and was very good each time. Very good burger and sandwiches. Decent selection of draft beers including Guinness. Like the pub atmosphere of this restaurant and service was prompt and friendly. Looking forward to returning in the near future for lunch or dinner.
