Many dishes seemed to be lines on Indian vegetarian food. Can not say if that is a good or bad thing. They kept bringing injera but that was not hot . That was a dampner. Over all an ok place for vegetarians(no egg)

I appreciated my dining experience at Mesob and definitely plan to return. My mother, daughter , Sister and I went here this past Mother's Day. Mesob requires reservations to guarantee a table which was simple enough to arrange through the Opentable app. The area of Montclair where it's located is fairly busy, luckily there is a parking deck right around... I had a ticket for a show at the Wellmont Theater and looked for a place to have dinner before the show. When I saw the Mesob Ethiopian Restaurant online, I decided to try it. I was very pleased. The restaurant is very spacious and has a high ceiling. I tried the meat sampler so I would not have to... More

The food was tasty but extremely oily!! Other then spicy 🌶 on some of the dishes there was not much other seasoning. Lentils and the chicken were very nice and tasty. The appraiser sampler was good and nicely seasoned. The dinner meat sampler was ok but the vegetables were out of this world 🌎. For two people was enough food... More

We went to this restaurant a few days ago for lunch after a visit of the nearby Montclair Art Museum. Mesob is really a great place to eat: the food is well prepared, excellent, and original (at least to a Westerner palate). And the prices are very reasonable. Of course you must be comfortable eating with your fingers and using... More

Nice atmosphere and a good experience. Food a little too bland for me, though my partner was impressed.

This place is just delicious with wonderful vegetarian options. Scoop up the lentils on the flavorful bread -- yum. The mushrooms are also amazing. Recommend the combination platters but all is great. If you haven't had Ethiopian food give it a try.

Starting from the location, it is situated in downtown Montclair surrounded by very nice restaurants and bars. I was a little sceptical about trying Ethiopian cuisine but I had heard lots of good reviews about this place. Being a vegetarian they have a hell lot of options in vegetarian and it was very delicious. We ordered the platter for one... More

Mesob Ethiopian Restaurant of Montclair, NJ is a favorite for both vegans & meat lovers with its authentic Ethiopian food. All of our foods are prepared with imported Ethiopian spices prepared daily. The friendly staff and warm decor makes Mesob the perfect place to relax with family and friends. Our Injera, a delicious sourdough Ethiopian flat bread that you wrap your food with, makes Mesob a favorite with kids, where it’s a treat to “eat with your hands.” (but we also have silverware, if you prefer!)
