Went to have lunch with our son and his wife, by indication. The overall atmosphere is very familiar and friendly, courteous attendants, place very clean but crowded. Tables too close each other (may be caused by the food quality...) Food in large portions, generously serving...More

Stopped in for dinner last minute. They brought out a bread basket with 3 different types of bread, butter and a soft cheese spread of some kind which was very nice. Also a complimentary marinated olive dish. Had grilled whole black sea bass with potatoes...More

We went to Sol Mar because it was highly recommended by a friend. First, parking is across the street in a strip mall. There are spaces allotted for the restaurant, which we just happened to find them. I ordered the mariscada, lots of shrimp, clams,...More

It's kind of a tradition for us, if we are flying out out Newark Airport, we will stop here for lunch or dinner. This restaurant does not disappoint. The food is great and the portions are huge. Heavily recommended.

I had a Sunday afternoon dinner with an old friend during a visit to NJ. We had a large platter of seafood, and a pleasant wine from Portugal. The portions were large and the price very fair. I will be back on my next opportunity.

It is as safe as any other urban location. The Ironbound section has several restaurants that are accessed via Newark Penn. Ferry Street takes you there.

It's a hike from Penn Station. It's on Ferry St. Not difficult to find. I don't know exactly how long it will take you to walk or even by car as it depends on the traffic and time of day. But you'll see lots of interesting... More
