Be prepared to speak Portuguese, because little old ladies only speak their native language....or point & nod your head. They luv visitors & tourist. Bread is baked fresh everyday, just like in Europe. They will recommend pasteries,etc....just go along with it because they have never given me something I didn't enjoy. Also get a kaffee and SIT DOWN!!!!! They will... More

They have a good collection of sweet and salty foods - pies, pastries and cookies and breads. The seating is for about 20 people and seemed at the time I was there to be mainly local as portugese was commonly spoken. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the good bakery.

The Portuguese bread and rolls baked and distributed by this famous Newark bakery is simply THE BEST! Camino Mercado restaurant serves Teixeria rolls as do many other well-respected restaurants. You can stop in for coffee & dessert or take your sweets home to enjoy.

Great place for pastries, cake & coffee. Great place to go have brekfast on Sunday morning then picking up a few extras for later in the day. Pastel de natas are amazing here! Love the place.

Wonderful breakfast, with croissants, custard cups, and pastry, along with cappuccinos. Very friendly counter staff, and we ended up taking even more home.

My daughter and I went here after picking her up one morning from a flight back from college. It's a Portuguese bakery and, as expected, the breads are fantastic. You can't get an egg sandwich and that was disappointing, but their other goodies make up for it! Their coffee with milk is very good!

That pretty much sums it up. If we want those precious custard cups we'll take the half hour drive to Nork for these. And, while we're there we always get some of their basic Portuguese rolls. Heck, if we're going to visit people sometimes we'll come here just for rolls and custard cups to bring for hosts. We always get... More

They had 5 different types and of course I tried all of them. From lemon to plain to vanilla bean. I still a\m loyal to the plain. Went great with a nice cup of expresso. Great flaky pie crust shell and very reasonable priced, open late.

If you live in Ironbound Newark, you know that the best bread around is at Teixeira's their bread is so good that many farmers markets and small stores get their bread from this bakery. It is simply amazing and makes it extremely difficult to stay away from carbs. Then there are the custard cups, yum.. I know people that will... More

I love to come here and get fresh Portuguese rolls. Straight out the oven the bread is crispy, warm but so soft on the inside. I love the Pasteis de Nata aka the little custard cups, now they make minis!!! I have the cherry cheese danish which is good as well. I can come at 8:30am and they are open... More
