The County Seat restaurant has been a landmark for as long as I've been living in Sussex County. At one time it was a favorite place to have dinner. It was sold a number of years ago, completely remodeled and the menu changed. Although the restaurant currently offers a number of interesting choices plus the usual such as chicken parm,... More

Have been here at least 3 times and never once received our meal in a timely fashion. We keep "trying" but I believe we will finally give up on the County Seat. Food okay but really frustrated with the service. Had to flag down bus boy just to get any attention. We cannot recommend.

OK, nothing to look at inside (like eating in a Legion Post) or for that matter outside. The key is the staff (very outgoing and helpful with the menu) and the food (VG). There were three of us and nobody was unhappy. My Lamb was terrific. Next time I'm in Newton, I'm there.

Well the politicians meet at the county seat. Food is very good but if you go at lunch: early or you will wait.

Food is always good. Wings are great! I think Wednesdays are wing night, well worth it. Burgers are very good.

My husband had the fish and chips and he said it was the best he has had in a long time. The only complaint he had is they served it in a cute wire basket and he had trouble cutting the fish as well as messy with the chips under the fish. I had the double cut pork chop which... More

A reliable dinner but not inexpensive. Parking is available across the street in an un paved parking lot.

As said from the outside you might pass, but don't. Inside there are plenty of tables and good help. Husband had penne vodka with blackened chicken. He thought it was great. I had snow crab legs which were also very good. Check out the menu, go there and decide for yourself. They serve a wide range of meals along with... More

I looked up reviews of this restaurant on Trip Advisor, the majority of the diners were happy with their food so we gave it a try We started off with onion rings - I'm a senior so for me to say they are the best I've ever eaten is something!!! The entrees we had were very good : Shepherd's Pie,... More
