Have never been before. Was looking for a place walkable to Count Basie (this is about 3 blocks away). Such a great choice. The food was so good. I had the pork shank Ossobuca and it was the BEST I've ever had! Had the homemade gelato for dessert (biscotti flavored!) and it was amazing! an't say enough about it. Take... More

Went here for dinner before going to th Count Basie Theater. From the street the restaurant looks very small. Inside it is long and narrow. It is nicely decorated and the tables are somewhat close together. We got there early so it was not crowded but was full by the time we left. Our server was friendly and attentive but... More

We just had a wonderful experience last weekend. We had delayed our reservations by 30 minutes because we were full from lunch and just intended to order appetizers before an 8 pm theater seating. When we looked at the menu we couldn't help but order appetizers and entrees !!! We had the mussels (amazing broth to dip the bread in)... More

My husband and I went to Monticello for the first time for our anniversary. Having been told by friends that they often sit couples by the kitchen we requested a larger table and were pleasantly surprised when they sat us in the table by the window. We ordered a burrata appetizer, this only came with a small piece of burrata... More

The restaurant is rather small, narrow but cozy in feel. We were there on a Sunday and it was not crowded at all. Other reviews complained of the noise level but it wasn't bad when we were there (but it was not crowded) we had reservations and we're seated immediately. The server came over immediately and opened/poured our wine. The... More

We recently had dinner at Monticello and it was a mixed bag. Three of us had the "Salmon and Shrimp". Why it was so named escapes me for the one shriveled shrimp they gave us might be better termed a garnish, certainly not a co-entree. I'll grant that this small bite sized shrimp was tasty as was the salmon though... More

Saturday night - table for two - 7 pm. My boyfriend and I were not greeted until a man came up and asked if we were ready to order. We ordered and later heard him recite the specials to a table (we would have liked to order those specials...). Took about ten minutes to have our bottle of wine opened.... More

Service and food are always the best here. It's because everything is made from scratch and with love. My favorite is Chicken Monticello. For desert creme brûlée!! The atmosphere & the attention to details are so great you will love it here!

Highly recommend Monticello. Great food, great service (thank you Danielle). Small venue, cozy atmosphere, a little noisy when all tables occupied. Veal malenaise and grilled Swordfish risotto were excellent! Great Meal, Great time! Good value for the money, BYOB- and if u forget, the wine store down the street delivers right to your table!

We went on a Sunday night to try pre fix menu for $20.00! Well what a bargain. Delicious house salad or caesar salad to start, nice size. I had the Paparadelle Monticello and the others had chicken parm (huge portion) and chicken francese, regular size portion. Very, very good. Then we had the vanilla ice cream with berries and whipped... More
