Went with ex-husband out to eat for dinner. He is Italian and we have tried just about every restaurant in Central Jersey for Italian. Food was delicious.

This is your higher end Italian cuisine restaurant. The food is fabulous, It is well decorated and easy to get to from the Somerville train station. If there is a negative to be said about it, it's just that it is so expensive to eat...More

We lunched here for our wedding anniversary after considering but not committing on a number of occasions. Building is fantastic, service is great and food is fresh prepared, well presented and of a very high standard. Would definitely eat here again and would love to...More

We dropped in to Il Pomodoro after unsuccessfully trying to eat at 3 other highly rated (Yelp) Italian restaurants in Somerville. The first 2 may have been okay but had a Bring-Your-Own-Wine policy. For out-of-town visitors this is extremely unmanageable and incomprehensible so we kept...More

Set in an old home, the decor is very calming and sophisticated. The foie gras was over chilled and needed to rest a bit before eating. The salads were fresh and bright and the bread was fine, not as good as expected for this level...More

Isn’t it nice when the restaurant offers BOTH good food AND nice service?! (AND, beautiful atmosphere!) That’s what we found at Il Pomodoro! It began with some very friendly email replies from one of the managers, welcoming us and giving us information. The cordial and...More

All 4 of our dishes were delicious. Love the bar atmosphere. Service was great. Can't wait to go back. Would like to visit Tapestre downstairs too.

We enjoyed dining outside on the front porch of this beautifully renovated 1800s building which was once a home. From the moment we arrived, the service was wonderful -- our waiter was very kind and attentive, and knowledgeable about all the items on the menu....More

Description
Il Pomodoro offers up Italian cuisine with a Mediterranean flair. Built in the 1800's and located in the heart of central New Jersey, this beautiful three-story brick structure, was originally the private residence of a prominent Somerville businessman before undergoing extensive renovations to become the amazing dining experience it is today. It is a stunning building with a wrap-around porch accentuated by a rooftop copula that overlooks the historic town of Somerville. The only way to truly enjoy Il Pomodoro is to dine there. A vast collection of wines, top-shelf cocktails and relaxed atmosphere will be sure to make Il Pomodoro your dining room away from home.
