I've been to this restaurant several times over the years. The food is mediocre. Coffee is awful and the place is dirty. Not once has the owner, who is often there, say hello. He just looks up and turns away. I purchased a groupon recently...and went there for lunch. I ordered a lobster roll and a salad. It was absolutely disgusting and inedible. There were pieces of the lobster shell in the sandwich. I called over the waitress and told her and she just literally walked away in the middle of the conversation. This was an extremely rude and childish reaction when I was trying to resolve the issue. The owner again, was there and did not come over to the table. So I go up to the register to discuss with the person at the cash register. They did not refund me. As I was leaving, a man that had been sitting with the owner (obviously a friend or family member)walked out behind me and verbally insulted me. He knew nothing about the situation but said that " I got my $10", and that I should have tipped the waitress that walked away from me. (really????) He also told me to "Go back up North". I'm a full time home owner in Brielle. So now we know how Ray's café feels about Summer visitors from up North. Again, just to clarify, I HAD ALREADY PAID FOR MY MEAL THROUGH GROUPON!!! Needless to say, I will never return and will make sure everyone I know hears about this.More

The former Rays cafe is now Good AM Spring Lake. The breakfast and lunch are excellent for casual daytime dining. Can’t rate weekends for dinner having never tried.

Family was in town and we had breakfast at this establishment. Food was fresh, fast and cooked the way we liked it. Waitress was attentive to our needs. Space was a little bit cramped for our 8 people but was manageable. Overall a good place.

We are so pleased to find a terrific place with a variety and absolutely homemade fresh dishes. We went for Sunday breakfast and we all were extremely happy. Best Corned beef hash we ever had out anywhere! Not greasy at all. The homemade potatoes with...the egg dishes too were just delicious. The kitchen knows how to poach a perfect egg, thank goodness. So many places screw that up and it kills your whole meal. I had the summer frittata with watermelon salad on the side, not only was it different but let me tell you that watermelon salad with homemade honey, lime dressing I could drink it out of a glass, yummy. Baby arugula, watermelon, blueberries, feta, slivered almonds, cucumbers and that dressing, WOW. Frittata was packed full of good stuff and very satisfying. Great portions, clean, comfortable environment and our waitress Jill was just wonderful. She knew her menu, made us feel super welcome and she knew exactly when to check on us without hovering over us. The people here are all very nice, pleasant, well trained and knowledgeable.More

Not a bad choice for Spring Lake. BYOB. Friendly service. We had halibut, which was very good. Mussels with calamari was okay, not exceptional. Lobster is the big menu item. Ambience is homey, can be noisy. They serve breakfast and lunch in addition to dinner.
