I have ordered empanadas here a few times. they put them in with the lettuce and tomato, so by the time you get it home all is soggy. The last visit, they were not marked and we had no idea which was which. It was...3 orders for 3 different co workers and they would not package them as so. the empanadas were all packaged together, soggy. It was disappointing, esp on a busy work day, and breaking apart other people's food is not appetizingMore

Nice local Mexican place, good service. I wanted to like it a lot, but it was only ok. I picked up a chicken burrito to go ($12.75 with tax). On the plus side, it was a good-sized burrito with a lot of shredded chicken and...rice (rather than grilled chicken), ok flavor. On the negative side, shredded cheese was not melted (you should wrap burrito in foil, rather than place in styrofoam), very few beans, side salsa was watery. So it was kinda like a big dish of mixed chicken and rice with unmelted shredded cheese wrapped in a tortilla. I ate it all.More

This my favorite Mexican restaurant. The food and service are always great. I had the Burrito for lunch with black beans and rice and it was so good. I highly recommend

We have been here twice in 2 weeks, and found this restaurant by accident. The food is delicious, fresh and the prices are very affordable. The staff is always friendly. We ordered the camarones a la Diabla (spicy shrimp), which was really good, also ordered...the shredded beef which was excellent. Definitely a must try if you are in the area.More

A small restaurant, which often has specials. It also has a bit of parking in front. We got there around 5PM, and had the place to ourselves -- for 45 minutes. There was a barbacoa beef special. We had it "Mexican" style (onion, cilantro) in...tacos. It was so VERY good. The salsa served with chips was new to me -- a mix of tomatoes and tomatillos (I think) REALLY GOOD. We added it to the tacos. I added some hot sauce, too. My wife had a horchata -- a rice based "milk shake." I'd brought a beer (it's BYOB). This place is popular for good reason. No frills, just very good food.More

Had a nice lunch with my daughter including delicious churro and fried ice cream. The shrimp quesadilla had great flavor and the shrimp was cooked well.

A very pleasant surprise- the food is more Mexican than tex-mex- with fresh ingredients and not covered in heavy sauces and cheese. Many gluten free and vegetarian options-the portions generous and the service friendly- would recommend highly

Authentic Mexican fare served simply and without fanfare - but simply fresh, delicious, served quickly and hot! Huge belly-busting portions at reasonable prices. Do not miss this hidden little marvel, tucked away in a small strip center on the southbound side of Hwy 71(Seventh Ave.)...in Spring Lake.More

Make sure to stop at Jose's when visiting Spring Lake. Authentic Mexican food, fresh and flavorful. Their fish tacos are the best I have ever had and portions are generous.
