We went there for the Happy Hour on a Friday. Place was almost empty in the tavern, which should have been our first clue. No Happy Hour prices on food items and 30% off of spirits (no great shakes here). The food was ambitious, but not well executed--for example, the chicken livers were over done. Basically the food was over-priced... More

We celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary at the Stockton Inn. The Staff was very friendly, comfortably attentive and quite helpful with menu suggestions. Special thanks to Brynn, our server, and Judd, the bartender!. Every dish we had from the varied, almost eclectic, menu was superb. We shared the miso glazed beef tenderloin (MELT IN YOUR MOUTH TENDER!), the Potachos (interesting),... More

We came here tonight after walking out of another restaurant several miles away where we had sat for 25 minutes without any attempt at service. We took a chance on getting a table at this wonderful and favorite spot and were lucky that a table was open in the tavern section. We received prompt, attentive and exceptionally professional service and... More

The perfect stop for lunch on this great fall day in Bucks County! We have not been to the Stockton Inn for many years and it was better than I remembered. The food was so good. I had the beet salad and the chicken fried chicken livers and the chocolate tart for dessert. I fully enjoyed it. My husband had... More

The setting is stunning- there were at least 10 open tables out on the beautiful patio so we patiently waited over 15 minutes for our table - no one else was waiting just us. We were finally seated beside the waterfall- perfect. We waited another 17 min. Before I flagged down a waiter to ask him if anyone was planning... More

Food delicious as was the wine - a lovely bottle of Albariino! My husband's ribeye steak was cooked perfectly and outstanding, served with a salt box containing a variety of salts from around the world! My halibut was also quite good, served with grilled heirloom tomoates. The service good but we were sat outside (all diners were) and after the... More

I used to visit the Stockton Inn when I lived in central New Jersey (35 years ago). It was nice going back. Wound up having lunch and dinner here during a weekend in the area. Actually lunch was nicer. Great sitting outside. Friendly servers. The food is decent but some dishes were fancier than they really could execute.

A recent Monday night power outage in conjunction with heavy thunderstorms caused us to make last minute decision to go out for dinner. Unfortunately, in our area, most restaurants are closed on Mondays. We were lucky to find the Dog and Deer Tavern at The Stockton Inn open (while the main restaurant was closed, the Tavern is open 7 days... More

Stopped in the other night just for a cocktail and to see if things had possibly improved since the current ownership took over... No one in the place. We used to love to come here years ago and actually stayed in one of the overnight rooms a couple of times before we lived in the area. The bar food and... More

If I could give it 6 stars I would. From the moment you enter it is gorgeous old inn with what I would imagine would be on a pony express or trail stop. Great looking lively bar. Outdoor seating. Dining rooms. Fireplace seating. Visually stunning that made us wonder if they actually rented rooms upstairs. Let's start with drink menu.... More

Established in 1710, this is the inn that was immortalized by Richard Rodgers in the song "There's a small hotel with a wishing well" sung in the Broadway play On Your Toes. The inn was first built as a private residence and is believed to have been converted in 1832. Come and explore the over 300 year old Stockton Inn, nestled in the quaint borough of Stockton, New Jersey. Romantic dining is served in the exquisite mural rooms with fireside seating during the colder months. In the warmest months of the year, savor your meal and your surroundings while dining on the patio alongside two waterfalls and beautifully integrated gardens.
