I used to visit the Stockton Inn when I lived in central New Jersey (35 years ago). It was nice going back. Wound up having lunch and dinner here during a weekend in the area. Actually lunch was nicer. Great sitting outside. Friendly servers. The food is decent but some dishes were fancier than they really could execute.

A recent Monday night power outage in conjunction with heavy thunderstorms caused us to make last minute decision to go out for dinner. Unfortunately, in our area, most restaurants are closed on Mondays. We were lucky to find the Dog and Deer Tavern at The Stockton Inn open (while the main restaurant was closed, the Tavern is open 7 days... More

Stopped in the other night just for a cocktail and to see if things had possibly improved since the current ownership took over... No one in the place. We used to love to come here years ago and actually stayed in one of the overnight rooms a couple of times before we lived in the area. The bar food and... More

If I could give it 6 stars I would. From the moment you enter it is gorgeous old inn with what I would imagine would be on a pony express or trail stop. Great looking lively bar. Outdoor seating. Dining rooms. Fireplace seating. Visually stunning that made us wonder if they actually rented rooms upstairs. Let's start with drink menu.... More

My bride and I went there on a Thursday night. The outdoor seating area is just lovely. We sat by the waterfall and had the place to ourselves. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable and went out of her way to tell us their hours and the outside bar schedule. I had the duck which was very good. My... More

Our overall impression was almost exactly what TripAdvisor rated the establishment, about three stars. Unquestionably envious location, great historic premises, cozy and authentic interior of a period inn, great outdoor seating for warmer months of the year. The service is decent, nothing really to complain about. The menu choices are interesting though not that much extensive. The wine list is... More

This classic Bucks/DelVal classic has been reinvented for the N-th time, and it's definitely for the better. Stockton's latest direction is toward "fine" dining.... and they're pulling it off w/ both service and food. The menu is ambitious and the output that emerges is generally fulfilling those goals. KEY: Atmosphere outside in the back w/ that mesmerizing waterfall is the... More

Wanted somewhere to go for lunch yesterday so we chose The Stockton Inn. MISTAKE!!!!!!!!! Drove 30 minutes to get there but we should have checked the menu before hand otherwise I wouldn't be writing this review. Got there, spoke to the hostess said she would have a table for us in 20 minutes and that we could have a drink... More

The Stockton Inn used to be a welcoming local place full of characters. While the new owner has made beautiful physical improvements to the building, the charm of the place is gone. The atmosphere is stale, the service slow and inexperienced and it is vastly overpriced. You can spend your money at Zoubis in New Hope and get fabulous food... More

Staying near by and drove into Stockton the Inn looked nice so we decided to stay and have dinner. We were the only ones in the restaurant so of course service was good. Started with crab salad and the lobster risotto both were delicious for entrée we had the Red Hawk Mezzalune. A little tasteless but for the English pea... More

Established in 1710, this is the inn that was immortalized by Richard Rodgers in the song "There's a small hotel with a wishing well" sung in the Broadway play On Your Toes. The inn was first built as a private residence and is believed to have been converted in 1832. Come and explore the over 300 year old Stockton Inn, nestled in the quaint borough of Stockton, New Jersey. Romantic dining is served in the exquisite mural rooms with fireside seating during the colder months. In the warmest months of the year, savor your meal and your surroundings while dining on the patio alongside two waterfalls and beautifully integrated gardens.
