Was apprehensive at first as the sign doesn't really state what it serves, just name and a picture of a bowl. But the place was cute looking (purple/pink) and from the posted hours we figured it was a breakfast place. We were pleasantly surprised when we walked in, from the friendly atmosphere to the smell of delicious food cooking. No fancy... More

If you are coming to Vernon for outdoor activities, then you must stop at The Mixing Bowl for breakfast. The specials are great and the staff is always pleasant and accommodating. The is a genuine old style feeling at this place. Wonderfully decorated, it is a must stop while in Vernon. They serve breakfast and lunch.

I love the outside decor! Makes me feel like a little kid. We came here for breakfast on a Saturday morning when we were staying at the near by ski resort. Food was pretty good! Only downfall is that it's a bit tiny inside !!

This is a home town family restaurant. The food is good, basic and inexpensive. Great breakfast! Usually a crowd on weekends, you might have to wait a but, but worth it. I like lunch here too. It's not fancy, just good. Wait staff is friendly too.

Great food and home like atmosphere. Try the chili omelet! Very affordable. It gets really busy for breakfast but tables open up quickly. Worth the wait. And remember, it's only open till 2 or 3pm. So , only breakfast and lunch.

Country Fried steak and fresh eggs really hit the spot after a night of skiing and partying. Really recommend this place if you want quality down home cooking.

Breakfast is good. Service ok. Small inside, sits off the main street and they have been here a long time. Locals seem to be the average. Personally I forget it's there. But, food was descent. Atmosphere country and extremely simple.

Best little restaurant in Vernon. Never had a bad lunch. The coleslaw is delicious and the tuna melt is yummy. My husband always get the steak sandwich and it is always good. The best thing about this place is the food is consistently good. My niece loves the pancakes. Nice wait staff although it can be a bit slow when... More

My wife and I stopped by The Mixing Bowl during a weekend stay in Vernon, NJ. The staff is friendly, the customers are mostly locals, the food is good, and the dining area is cozy. Stop by The Mixing Bowl and say hi if you want a quiet dining experience.

Very cute for Breakfast or brunch. The atmosphere is nice and inviting and service very good. That's a reason to keep coming back. Food is good to above average, but we have found a few diners in the area that are far better. Nice ambience, so we change it up for breakfast before skiing. Go early, or expect to wait... More
