We were visiting the Franschhoek area from the UK and had lunch at Bread and Wine. The relaxed ambiance was just what was called for on a sunny Saturday lunch time. We had an excellent lunch, served by a very friendly staff, accompanied by some lovely wine. The menu catered well for all tastes, and our meals came well presented... More

Glorious meal in a delightful setting! Staff was fantastic - attentive, friendly and engaging. I could go on and on about the food - just know that it's amazing. The dining area makes you forget about time and the outside world - I didn't want to leave. It's a "must do" if in the area!

We had two courses for lunch and all 4 superb. Shared a bottle of unoaked Chardonnay which went very well with food. The weather was cold and we had to sit inside, which was the only negative. After dining our way around the region these past 3 weeks, this one of the top favorites.

We didn't want a big meal so we chose to eat in the shop which is just next to the restaurant. The choices are simple but everything is of great quality and what better to sit in the sun with some meat, cheese and a couple of glasses of Moreson blanc de blanc MCC

We spent a lovely Sunday afternoon here early November. It is hidden away down Happy Valley Road and surrounded by the most divine little bridges and streams. The sunday menu was a set menu that you could choose 2 or 3 courses from, and you got complimentary bread (which was amazing) and the quality of the food really was divine... More

We had an incredible gourmet lunch, accompanied by delicious wines and in the scenic surroundings of a shady courtyard with vines, water falls and stunning views in all directions. This place is a real find and the food is just exquisite. It is also an excellent family destination with a kids' play area and a delicious kids menu.

The bistro menu was so good we came back another day to try the restaurant. The pizzas were great and pineapple soufflé divine. The wine tasting was next door. Good value for the tasting (and free if you buy some bottles). I had been concerned with the TripAdvisor (i.e. Google) map before going. Don't Worry! The marker is about right... More

Hadn't been to this restaurant in years & had forgotten what a gem it is! Food, setting & service from the wonderful waitresses was great from beginning to end. Not intrusive but always there when you need them, & knowledgeable and helpful with menu items/recommendations. My overseas guests were equally impressed.

After not being able to get into a place recommended to us, Bread and Wine was recommended by our wine tour guide. Outstanding 3 course lunch with quality wine that was very reasonably priced. Service was very good. Attentive but not rushed. Food choices we varied and couldn't go wrong. We were so happy we couldn't get in the other... More

We had a 3rd starter due to the fact that my wife ordered the best meal and after tasting it, we both had to have it again. Need I say more?
