Due to the quality of the restaurants in the South African Winelands, it is difficult for one to stand out. Bread and Wine at Moreson has managed to achieve this. The tranquility of the space is only enhanced by the outstanding wines and efficient and friendly service. This is a must-visit destination in the Franschoek area.

This year we decided to try out something entirely different in terms of dining at a winery. Bread & Wine did not disappoint - the setting is beautiful and serene and the food was sublime. The choices were really good and it was difficult to choose any one particular dish. Meals are very well presented and portions are more than... More

Bread & Wine has been around for many a year, but had changed hands since our last visit, so it was good to see that standards were still high. For me the best part of eating here is the bread and home cured charcuterie. The cured meat starter is fantastic - you could be in Italy or France - and... More

We have been here several times in the past few years and were always delighted with the food. However, the menu has now changed and you are obliged to pay 360 rand for two courses which is outrageously expensive by S African standards. The prawn cocktail only contained three small pieces of prawn and my husband did complain about this.... More

One of our favourite restaurants in South Africa, it never disappoints, Everything about it just ticks the right box, stating, service and the food is amazing, the charcuterie board as a starter was delightful, orange, meringue tart was delicious. Can't wait to return.

We were recommended this by Annette at The Garden House so drove there happily. When we turned off the main road we were getting slightly concerned as we drove down a bumpy road until we turned into the vineyard. Absolutely beautiful, the gardens and the agapanthus were just amazing. We did a spot of wine-tasting then had lunch under the... More

This was one of our favorite places for lunch in Franschhoek. In the past you could choose light meals and great platters from a menu. Now they have changed the concept and you are forced to choose for minimum 2 or 3 courses! Talked to a lot of people including locals who don't understand this change and will not go... More

With all the hype my expectations were high What we had was raw prawns and inedible moose on the signature prawn cocktail Followed by experimental nonsense which should have been checked before sold I asked to see the chef to explain the so called ice cream but he stayed hidden. Don't bother to waste your time on this

We visited for lunch and were very very glad we did, did the wine tasting first(as you do) and then had a great lunch with superb food and service with a good bottle of wine. The seating area under the trees is excellent and is quite cool which makes lunch all the better. You are not rushed so you can... More

Sitting under the trees, great food and the best Chardonnay in the Cape - Mercator. Various fresh breads brought to the table with 6 different butters. Rooibos butter, duck fat etc. Really one of the best lunch spots in the valley.
