The restaurant is wonderful, a beautiful symphony of architectural splendor and culinary excellence. However, upon our arrival we were met by the hostess who thought it her duty to show us the menu and prices. You see my husband and our two kids were dressed casually as we were on our way to do some sight seeing. The hostess obviously... More

Visited here as a family of three generations and all enjoyed the experience. My daughter is vegetarian and the chef created a wonderful dish for her. Our waiter was superb but I missed his name but he suggested my dishes which were scallop followed by kingklip paired with the suggested wine awesome. Great experience and a stunning taste experience thank... More

Highs One of the best views in the Cape by far. The food and service was excellent. I really liked that they had both a full tasting menu option and a 2-3 course option. Lows We wanted to have coffee on the balcony to take in the scenery but it got really really windy and had to make a quick... More

An interesting windy drive up to the top of a hill and there was Waterkloof. Very modern decor with amazing views over Somerset West and False Bay. The building was grand in scale and the welcome on arriving leads you to expect a special evening. We were not disappointed. This was modern food of a very high standard, unusual combinations... This is our 2rd time at Waterkloof restaurant. We had an amazing evening. The food is beautiful and really delicious. If you looking for a meal with a difference and willing to pay the price we highly recommend this place. Only thing is that you have to pay a R300 deposit per person when you make a booking.

The setting and the decor is breathtaking. The food is good, but not exceptional. There are three other fine dining restaurants in the area and Waterkloof would be at the bottom of my list in terms of value for money. The hostess and waiters are pretentious and don't make you feel welcome.

This is a modern, concrete, glass and steel restaurant set high on a hill over looking False Bay, the Cape Peninsula, Strand, Gordon's Bay and Somerset West. The views are spectacular. The open plan, wine making, wine tasting, kitchen and restaurant are adjacent to one another but it is on such a grand scale so everything has its place and... More

Post modern eatery meets michelin star quality food. Heavenly!! My best friends took me there to celebrate my birthday in style and I was so happy with the whole venue and experience. Best serve this one for a special occasion! - Reservations for this highly acclaimed eatery are recommended.

The Restaurant at Waterkloof is worth the 55 minute drive from Cape Town. The restaurant is located in the hills with a stunning view of the country side and in the distance the local town and ocean. This was the introduction of our children 8, 10 & 12 years old to fine dining - both the children and the waiters... More

Dining in Stellenbosch has been a "long lunch" experience for us. Most vineyard restaurants have lovely terraces, good wines at very reasonable prices paired with fine food. Only one of them stands high above others with their refined standards, attention to detail, design and winemaking culture, passion and pride. Waterkloof. The potential to appreciate all this may be the single... More
