No wonder that the Chef Gregory is voted "The Chef of Year 2016" this place is truly out of another world! With his experience from top restaurants in France paired with the local produce of South Africa, Chef Gregory never fails to inspire and delight with his creation and tastes. With endless assortments of Amuse Bouches in between the courses,... More

Booked here for a special treat with my partner while on holiday in South Africa. Had the 3 course option (recommend that you share the cheese board - its huge) and thoroughly enjoyed every course. Yellowfin followed by Springbok and cheese to top it all off. Beautiful sunset and a sea view. While you do have to pay for the... More

We spent a beautiful evening at Waterkloof. The setting is superb, with stunning views over False Bay and the surrounding vineyards and farmland. The food (and wine) is equally special. I enjoyed the asparagus starter and the quail as a main. Each was paired with a delicious wine. Thoroughly recommended... And, despite the setting and elegance for a tourist the... More

Nice mountain views and creative dishes (some of the sauces and desserts were downright amazing). Portions are small but you leave feeling quite full. Our waiter was attentive and described everything that was served, albeit recited in a rushed monotone...but the gesture was there. Also enjoyed the wine and the smell from the wine barrels at the entrance......

We have visited this Iconic establishment already quite some times during our RSA holidays. The food is excellent, displayed like craft works on your plates. Lovely wines and amazing views! This restaurant is now on no. 3 in the top 10 of the Eat Out, last year no. 6. They deserve this. Most of the staff is from a high... More

We visited Waterkloof for Sunday lunch. The architecture and views are superb. Our general experience was positive and the food was commendable although the portions are small. We were however disappointed with the service we received. Our waiter did not offer any description of the menu until asked. He also did not offer assistance on the wine list. There were... More

Although I disliked the architecture of concrete, steel and glass as I felt that the atmospehere was anything but warm, inviting and intimate and looked like an eyesore amongst the most beautiful vineyard and mountain setting, I was indeed blown away by the wonderful food experience! We were 6 for lunch and had a table on the glass enclosed "balcony"... More

This restaurant is excellent. The setting, architecture and experience would get 5 stars without even trying the food. We were there for dinner and had the tasting menu with paired wines. Always do this if on offer. I do. The chef pulled his socks up and knocked it out of the park. Standout dishes were the Oyster and Duck. Thankfully... More

This was one of the highlights of our holiday to South Africa. It's Cape Town's third best restaurant and it is easy to see why because when we went it was outstanding in every way. The building is a pleasing glass steel and concrete modernist iteration, with fabulous views over The Strand and the mountains. We first had a cellar... More
