We ate breakfast here each day of our stay and it was always good, fresh and tasty. Drinks, fresh juices and fruit were always nice throughout the day. Dinner was not bad but there can be a bit of confusion with requests like wanting "not spicy" for example. Overall meals were good, the view is a plus. Staff lovely and helpful.

The restaurant at Matahari Resort is superbly located next to the beach, offering excellent views to both the ocean and Mount Agung. It offers good breakfast and meals that are well above average (certainly as good as elsewhere in Tulamben). The menu is very diverse, offering a good choice of Balinese, Thai and western dishes. The service is very good and preparation of the meals is surprisingly fast, even when the restaurant is crowded. The staff is very friendly, creating a familiar atmosphere. Highly recommended!

Can’t believe there hasn’t been any reviews for this place recently. I know COVID has been a factor, so here goes. We are diving with Matahari and after a full days diving we were too tired to go elsewhere so ate at our restaurant. Along with the many Indonesian dishes there are a large selection of Thai food. We ordered 2 Thai dishes, both were really tasty - pad ka prao (mince pork with basil leaves and chili) and gai pad prick gaeng (chicken with red curry, long bean and eggplant) - apparently the chef is Thai. Definitely recommend the Thai, so will try Indonesian next 😋
An added bonus of eating here is the wonderful view out over the ocean and in the opposite direction Mount Agung
The breakfast fried noodles and rice dishes are also very tasty.

We ate here one night in four, but chose not to return. It was good food and a nice location but found somewhere else that we would return to. The Chicken Cordon Bleu was great, but other's we were with with were not overwhelmed with their meal.

Good food in a nice restaurant, right by the sea.
Good food and moderate prices.
The path leads through all the rooms of the hotel to the beach, where you have a great view of the bay/beach.
Clean, fast, good. Part of the Tulamben program...

The place is beach front and they have 2 floor, we eat at the second floor and it have a great view of the beach and sea on one side and the Mt. Agung on the other side, really beautiful. The menu provide lots of option from western to asian and fews thai food. We eat crispy pork that bit hard to chew, but the mix stir fry vegetable is good. The beer also have a bargain price and they have lots fresh fruits for juice option. But this place also mostly crowded from guest of the resort or people at their diving center. This can be one of option for you to eat and drink if you stay around tulamben.

Thank you for your rating and great to hear that you liked our menu and your meals. We are very sorry when we have been busy during your visit but this is not normal.
We have often guests from outside which are very welcome and of course our guests also like to eat in our beach front Resaurant because they love to watch the ocean. And in case we are full then the Restaurant is also little bit mory crowded.

The staff at Tulamben Dive Resort are helpful and very polite and always ready with a smile. The food is delicious and well presented. We ate like like kings and we can't wait to go back next year.

Must admit that the view is great, and that's why I came here... But food was just average. I had grill mahi mahi which is very dry and hard. The worse part was that it still has scales on it... So was not nice to chew that.
Service was on a poor side. Would only come back for the atmosphere only.

Service is not something this restaurant does. We were standing around trying to find out where to have breakfast as all tables were full. The staff were chatting in the kitchen. The other diners told us to go upstairs as there were tables there and eventually they turned up with a dirty tattered menu. We both ordered the pancakes but the was a sickly sauce on them that made them inedible.
Location is good but the management and quality really let's this place down.

I apologize when my TEAM not directly "jumped" to lead you to a table. But we are a place for divers and not a 5* hotel. During your stay we have been busy and you can see from far that we have tables upstairs.
Our pancakes are not with a "sickly sauce" and we have lot of guests which love them. I dont like your style. I wouldnt eat something with a "sickly sauce" and I would direct complain to the waiters and request to change it. But it seems you love to make bad ratings.
On this point: thanks a lot to all our customers which love to eat in our Restaurant and enjoy the meals in our relaxed atmosphare. Suci

We stopped here for a snack on our first day in Tulamben and had a table next to the ocean as the sun went down. The spring rolls were unlike any spring roll I’d ever had before- the wrap was coated with egg and the plate was covered in their homemade special sweet sauce (fresh fresh fresh). My description doesn’t do it justice- it was sooo good. We ordered spring rolls at ever meal after this and nothing even came close. They definitely put their own spin on it, and of all the food I had in Tulamben, those spring rolls stand out the most. Delicious!!!

Have been coming here for the last three years. This year the menu has been updated with some great new Thai dishes.
Food was always fresh and delicious and served by lovely smiling staff. Had just about every meal here during our 11 day stay.

My wife & I are here numerous times during our Tulamben stay.
Great location- listening/seeing the waves crash against the shoreline.
Good staff- Fantastic food at a reasonable price. Recommend the Indonesian chicken soup & shrimp Pad Thai.

Matahari restaurant is a great local family restaurant , good quality fresh local produce especially local fish Tuna or Mahi Mahi never fails always the same fresh fish at its best also very affordable prices, traditional meals are great.very clean , good friendly service. Thank you for your great service and fantastic food.
