The waitstaff and food was worth going to visit. In some "tourist" towns the restaurants do not really care because they know they will never see that person again, this place is different. The food was well prepared and the server was very professional.

Excellent food, friendly staff, very reasonable prices in this diner that could be from the 1960s. Our fried catfish with fries and hushpuppies, and chicken-fried steak with all the trimmings were a very good meal.

We stop for really good diner service, no matter time of day, every time we roll through Capitan, which is several times per month. In the last few months EVERY time we've stopped, there were children from toddlers to elementary school, running, playing, screaming, and banging into stuff - being SO disruptive that we couldn't even hear each other talking.... He green chile cheeseburger are huge, with thick slabs of green chile laid across--none of this chopped stuff!! The green chile stew had chunks of tender beef, green chile, and potatoes. I had to add lots of salt to bring out the flavors. Extremely casual, but friendly and quick service.

We have been coming here for two years now. Have had breakfast, lunch and dinners. I don't remember getting a bad meal here. The store is clean and the staff are very friendly. The prices are very reasonable.

We stopped here for lunch after visiting the Smokey the Bear Museum, just down the street. Great Mexican food. Big menu, friendly service, local color. Recommend as a place for casual dining. I am sure all their menu is good.

Food was very reasonably priced. Hubby had chicken fried steak, said it was good for a frozen steak. I had grilled chicken salad. Good for the price.

The staff were very friendly and the place was very clean but our food or at least some items seemed frozen and warmed up except for Mexican dishes. Green chili stew was really good but burger came out of a box, it was cooked well, just not a fan of frozen food being served in restaurants and some items seemed... More

We stopped in for lunch during Smokey Bear Days. The restaurant was nearly full but our waitress was prompt and friendly, and our food came out quickly. The chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes were both the "real thing" and the white gravy was a nice compliment. The coconut cream and chocolate cream pies were both fresh and tasty.

I had the prime rib and shrimp special. Tasty and cooked to my request. The staff was cordial and efficient. Nice friendly local place to eat. Don't forget to ask for a dinner roll though. Try it you will like.
