This small restaurant in a very small New Mexico town is well worth the drive. My wife had the best chile relleno ever. My meal was wonderful, especially the green chile (they win contests, of course). The sopapillas were some of the best ever. Service was family-friendly. Note that they only take cash, and the restaurant is hard to spot... More

This is a family-owned restaurant that has marvelous home-made food, especially the sauces. Red chile sauce, superb; green chile sauce, fantastic. And the sopapillas are wonderful. This is now our favorite Mexican restaurant. Very casual atmosphere, with good service and nice pricing. Try a bit of a number of things with the El Farolito Platter, as I did. Yeah, we'll... More

You live in Alaska? Still worth the drive. Pure deliciousness awaits you in what might be the best 500 square feet of New Mexico. Tiny place with a host a out of towners and locals. Marisol provides excellent service.

So good in every way possible! The food was outstanding and everyone was friendly and patient. A very popular local place, you might wait a bit for a table. It is so worth it! I went twice last October and will be back this fall.

We ate at El Farolito during a stay at Ojo Caliente Springs and Spa. Driving from Ojo to El Rito is lovely and relaxing. El Rito is a tiny farming village nestled in the foothills. El Farolito is a very tiny restaurant but they serve authentic New Mexican comfort food at very reasonable prices. Order the combination dinner plate for... More

Great place for local New Mexican food. Nothing fancy (by any means), but good meal, friendly service and great value. BYOB and cash only. Recommend for the traveler who likes the "off the beaten path" restaurant experience.

The food is simple, filling and tasty. There is no pretension in this place, only really good food. We went there after a long day of hiking and we couldn't have been more satisfied after our meal. Service was friendly and welcoming.

Six of us gathered there for our last supper after a week of hiking and enjoying our time together. This is a wonderful little restaurant not far from Abiquiu, NM. We had enchilada and tamale with both red and green sauce. The chili's were very fresh and everything was just right. We brought our own "adult beverages" for our last... More

This tiny little restaurant is a terrific, authentic, multi-generational New Mexican eating establishment. On the day we were there, we were greeted with joy by Dominic, the co-owner who was our server, busboy, chef and local lore guide. What fun he was! And serious about his purpose, eating well and enjoying his restaurant. I had the Special combo, relleno and... More
