I ordered the fajitas, the mister had the taquitos. She brought over complimentary chips and salsa, The salsa was HOT and FULL OF FLAVOR. The... More

We enjoyed a festive Mexican dinner at Garcia's as part of a Road Scholar Trip to visit pueblo sites in nearby Chaco Canyon. Our large group was given a good limited menu and enjoyed prompt, friendly service and delicious meals. The pepper in my chili relleno carried a little heat with a lot of flavor. The beans and rice were... More

We were there Thursday for an early dinner at 5:00 but two other families were already there. My husband ordered the Special which was pork asada and I had a large menudo. We enjoyed our food and service was excellent. We were so full that we could not accept the complimentary desserts offered. Our server was very attentive and friendly.... More

I am a former sous chef and I was raised on comida mexicana... I have dined in Santa Fe and Albuquerque and this is the real deal. They serve the Best Menudo in the state of New Mexico or anywhere else for that matter..... One of Gallup's hidden treasures...........

Following a long drive from Montrose I was too tired to go further so I stopped at a motel on old 66 in west Gallup. I checked in and walked a few steps to Garcias so hungry I could have eaten the hind end out of a skunk. Didn't have to as it wasn't on the menu so I ordered... More

We were traveling and hungry, almost didn't stop - but everything was closed down. I am glad we stopped! Fantastic authentic Mexican food, great service by a man who has personality plus plus plus. A tiny place with a big atmosphere. I recommend everyone go and eat Mexican food the way God intended.

Good food at a reasonable price, very good green chile! Server asked me what I wanted and that was it, no refills on drink, no enjoy your meal or how is it. She treated the locals with a smile and pleasantries. If you are not local don't bother stopping, there are other great choices in Gallup!

Small out of the way restaurant, with excellent beef and chicken (shredded meats) tacos. Real authentic Mexican food! Waitress was very friendly and helpful.
