Visiting Las Cruces for an event and wanted to get some good local Mexican food. Found this place on my NM life app and decided to check it out. It's hard to find, my cars GPS took me somewhere else, but we finally found it. The restaurant itself, the furnishings and the decor are minimal, but the food and service... More

First time I went was last week after visit bank next door. Server very helpful in choosing what is good for breakfast. I cannot tell names, but there were beans, lettuce, eggs mixed in, sour cream, sausage and something green. I am new at Mexican food, but this was wonderful. The owner was in kitchen cooking, said hello to me... More

I have written so many reviews for Carrillo's Café I cannot count them all. Excellent is the bottom line with this restaurant! Home made, fresh, flexible, homemade, NOT chemical food, and it's a turn on for you, they make the best Green Chile Cheese Burger in Las Cruces!

Been going to Carrillos for probably over 30 some years now; (I really can't remember since when). We know the whole family, as it is a family owned and operated restaurant. A bit out of they way, but for me the BEST and our favorite Mexican food restaurant!! They are very accommodating, if you want something prepared a different way,... More

I'm from northern MN and needless to say, our Mexican food up north can be very disappointing. When coming to NM for a week long stay, our goal was to try as many Mexican restaurants. Based on what others recommended, we went to the most talked about. Then I found this place on TripAdvisor. I couldn't believe that locals weren't... More

This is a hole in the wall place with a so-so atmosphere but great food. We went there as a family several times and have ordered many things from the menu (all good) but my go to item is the green enchiladas. They're delicious! You have to give this place a try if you haven't already. It looks kind of... More

If atmosphere is your thing, don't go to Carrillo's (aka David's), but if good New Mexican food is your thing, make this your stop. We had the taco's, which were homemade, crunchy with lots of flavor. The beans and rice were good, but I always add salsa to everyone's rice. Their hamburgers are hand made and flavorful. Their red chile... More

Yes - we are "newbies" to REAL Mexican food and love it and the Owner was so patient with our questions and the food was SOOOOO good. He allowed us to sample several items, explained the dishes to us and made the meal an adventure!!! The place is NOT fancy - but the food was awesome and homemade - GO... More

Previous reviews don't seem to match the experience we had AT ALL. We went a bit after the lunch crunch, and there was only one server. He had to do everything: take orders, clean tables, deliver food plates, and get refills! How in the world does management (or the owners) not see this as a deficiency? Anyway, the poor guy... More

The food here is always the best you can get in Mexican food. They have cornered the market on authentic Las Cruces New Mexican food. It's not fancy, but delicious. When we go into town for a small family reunion, they accomadate our party of 25. I am always happy to go there and know they will take care of... More
