I would not go at anything like a peak time. The staff needed constant prompting to do the bare basics. They have people lined out past the door, so there is precious incentive to do anything other than rush around. The food is OK mexican, the interior funky on a good day. The clientele, a preponderance of casino-racetrack refugees and... More

Located on Mescalero Reservation this restaurant serves all types of dishes. Sour cream enchiladas is my favorite. Also good burgers. Extremely nice operators. Worth a 20 minute drive from Ruidoso.

Weird hours, BYOB, dingy atmosphere, but great food. A favorite when passing through on the way to Alamo

Stopped by on a Wednesday afternoon. Tables are dirty, service is horrible and the food was barely edible. You would be better off at Taco Bell.

Get the red beef enchiladas with onions and an egg on top. Green sauce is good too but for some spice, I like the red. Go easy on the green salsa and chips or your "buds" will be burning when the food arrives. The Wednesday special, 2 cheese enchiladas, pork chunks in red sauce... a "carne adovada" type of dish... We had a late lunch at Old Road House on a snowy, cold afternoon. The green salsa is quite good, tasting of smoky Hatch chiles. My husand and I split a combination platter, which was large enough for two. Great beef enchilada with green, good cheese enchilada with red, a fabulously authentic chile relleno with a very thin batter wash,... More

The highlight of our meal was meeting Henry , the owner. Henry built this place from the ground up. He was cool. I respect his work ethic and his decision to refrain from serving alcohol. My food was very good, and from observing the other tables, the other items on the menu must have been good, too. Stop by if... More

I'm not a big fan of Mexican food at any location, but I had friends visiting from out of town and they wanted to try this place. Salsa was too hot to eat for any of us. Food was average. Good service, good prices. Too far to drive for average food.

We went Sunday after church and it was packed. By the time we left there was a lot of people waiting for a table. The food is well worth the wait. I had the red beef enchiladas, great red sauce. The hot sauce with the chips is a green sauce and it is HOT, but great flavor. Excellent staff and... More

They don't have a sign so don't drive by. It is also off the highway on the old road. The best Mexican food in the area. Service was great and can't wait to come back again.
