We stopped at this bistro on the way from Santa Fe to Taos. We ordered their burger with additional caramelized onions and chile, which came with either soup or salad. It's the first time I've enjoyed a burger without any need of sauces or condiments. Highly recommended.

Located in the same building as the Penasco theatre, this is a funky diner/bistro serving sandwiches soups and cakes. We had to wait over half an hour for a table for lunch and found everything sort of average. Sad that there were no whole wheat options available that day in their bread selection. Not a memorable occasion.

Panasco the town does not have much to offer but Sugar Nymphs does. The owners are two bakers. Their breads are absolutely delicious so ordering a sandwich or a side of bread is a must. I had the grilled cheese and my wife the chicken stew special. Both were delicious. The restaurant is small- only about maybe 10 tables and... More

This small and quirky restaurant on the lovely drive from Santa Fe to Taos is worth planning a meal around. My wife had an excellent burger, and I enjoyed the "Zuni Stew" with fresh vegetables and an ancho tomato broth and some focaccio. We then shared a piece of carrot cake from the half-dozen or so beautiful cakes on display.... More

My daughter brought me here as its one of her FAV places.. we started with the Ginger Lemonade which was a treat. Then we had 2 Chili burgers which was one of the Best I ever had. The bread was amazing in combo with the fresh chilis. The desserts cannot be missed. We had Pumkin Cake and a Carrot Cake... More

A friend and I went to Sugar Nymphs Bistro for lunch. We each ordered a cup of soup, which was good but nothing to return for. Our sandwiches were again good, but nothing to make the thirty minute trip for again. Service was average. Restaurant could use a better cleaning. Will not return.

We visited Penasco last week while driving the High Road to Taos and had lunch at Sugar Nymphs (it had been recommended by someone at the Governors Palace in Santa Fe). Not only was all the food we ate delicious, and obviously freshly made, but the carrot cake was truly the best I've ever had in my (fairly) long life!... More

We were wandering up the high road to Taos stopping at some galleries. We began to wonder where we might have lunch. Sugar Nymphs appeared. Didn't look like much, but there were a number of cars there, so gave it a try. Glad we did. Between the two of us, we had a soup, salad and sandwich. All were delicious.... More

Wow, $6.00 for one slice of cake really? Can I get you to put "Happy Birthday" on that? The lunch was okay at best but I'm not a Tofu eating, gluten free kind of guy and I'm not running after the hottest spots and latest trends. For $14 more, back home, I could have gotten a very nice cake with... More

We dropped in to grab dessert on our way through the High Road to Taos...went out of our way actually to take this road and make this stop. We were met with hostile service, like our presence was an imposition since we weren't staying and only wanted to take dessert to go. Also, FYI, they don't make dessert on Sundays,... More
