This restaurant is an institution among Philmont scouters and travelers through Raton. It is off the beaten path and has some of the best green chili in New Mexico. Also try the guacamole and cottage cheese appetizer. The green chili is good on enchiladas, burritos...More

Off the beaten path and the main drag, this ain't no Taco Bell. Really good food, in a cafe setting. Both of their chilis are fantastic, the red (ground beef) is hotter than the green (pork). The homemade flour tortillas, are thick, chewy and soft....More

Living in Raton makes it easy for us to enjoy some of the best New Mexican food in the state. La Cosina is a family friendly restaurant both in atmosphere and affordability.

This place was a terrific surprise. Great food and great service for a very reasonable price. Authentic Mexican cuisine and they are open on Sunday. Most others in town were closed.

Stopped for lunch on a Tuesday on our way to Santa Fe. Many higher rated places were closed. Eclectic decor, nothing fancy but some nice photos of wildlife and outdoor scenes on the wall. My wife ordered sopaipillas stuffed with a ground beef/rice mix covered...More

On the advice of our waitress we got the flauta plates (3 bean and cheese, one beef). The veggie flautas were not smothered because both of their chilis have meat. Generous portions, including the guacamole. Come in and seat yourself. The tables and chairs are...More
