Good burgers - other stuff on menu is pretty "same old, same old" ... just like Buckhorns ... except Buckhorns I'd classify as a family place, while the Owl is a Honky Tonk. So, you wanna eat, and dance/sometimes listen to live music while pounding-down a couple 6-packs, then the Owl's gonna do just fine for you. If you want... More

The Owl has the second best burger I've ever eaten. The food is great and the atmosphere is very eclectic. I was excited to find that the Owl had a restaurant in Abq as well, but for whatever reason, the food is not nearly as good.

Stopped here for lunch last week for their green chile cheeseburger. I was not disappointed. The bar's got a great atmosphere as well.

With the buckhorn closed, this place was packed. Burgers were fine but onion rings came way before the burger. One burger had the bun soggy on the bottom.

A classmate recommended the Owl as having the best Green Chili Hamburger in New Mexico. I was glad I ordered the green chili on the side. It was hotter than I desire. The server recommended the beans with green chili. I do not, they were plain beans that tasted like those out of the can, actually out of the can... More

First time at the owl. Neat place to visit. It was full at noon on thursday. The service was friendly and the food was inexpensive and good. We will be back.

Before we visited I didn't know about this place. After the Trinity test in 1945 the secret scientists and engineers asked for burgers with their beer, so the cafe part of the bar was born. Cheap and cheerful, this is your authentic Southwest bar and grill. The green chile burger is excellent, even ignoring the fact that several Nobel Prize... More

This place is straight out of the 70's in all the best ways. They have the most legit green chile burgers on both sides of the Rio Grande. Done.

With The Buckhorn almost right across the street, you'll be tempted to hit The Owl, but don't. The seating is jammed, the seats are uncomfortable, and the food is downright middle of the road. Now I'm not saying there's anything wrong with the food, but as I did say, just because a place is big, just means that it's big,... More
