The menu is pretty extensive...lots of New Mexican food, barbecue specialties, burgers, a wide array of side dishes, etc. I started with the trio of dips (salsa, guacamole and queso with chips) which was fresh and delicious. I had the half barbecued chicken with a loaded baked potato and steamed vegetables for my entree... More

The smoked ribs and chicken breast were delicious! The tea and corn on the cob could use more flavor. Will try the potato salad on our next visit. Enjoyed!

My wife and I stopped for lunch today. She had the bbq brisket which was outstanding, and I had the wedge salad with steak. We also had drinks, salsa and chips and the service was excellent! I would highly recommend stopping here for a meal.

The Casa de Valdez is just a short distance from the Hampton Inn, maybe even walking distance but we drove. We were seated immediately. The restaurant was not crowded. After looking... More

When I’m in New Mexico, I’m always pursing the best Chile Rellenos. To me, this is the signature dish for evaluating New Mexican cooking. We were in Taos staying at a fabulous Airbnb near the plaza, and at the last minute looking for a good restaurant. We chose Casa de Valdez, and were not disappointed. Clearly it’s a family run... We were vacationing and needed a restaurant for a family birthday meal. All five of us ordered something different from Mexican food, steak, and barbecue selections. We all thought our meals were delicious. Our waiter was very attentive and brought the birthday boy German coleslaw to try and it was delicious. He also brought him a delicious piece of cheesecake...
