The restaurants at El Monte Sagrado in Taos have been through many changes, but now that the heritage Group owns the hotel, the changes have been for the better. My husband and I decided to go for something different for breakfast this morning and visited this restaurant. First of all it's a smallish, sunlit room with lots of plantings and... More

I was the only one in the restaurant for a very early, midweek dinner. My server was a bit cool at first, but warmed up after a bit and provided excellent service throughout my meal. I started with some type of specialty salad (corn, squash, cojita cheese, etc.) which was fantastic and it was a huge serving...but rather pricey at... More

We had two of the tree flatbreads and the carne was by far the best. The goat cheese blanco pizza was fair at best... service good and great margaritas. I would go back, but get the carne flatbread.

We stayed at the El Monte Sagrado, truly one of our most favorite hotels. We went to De La Tierra for a drink and bite after a long day of driving. We received our drinks right away, but that's the only thing that was quick. We ordered the charcuterie plate, so no cooking involved. It took a really long time... More

We've eaten at the De La Tierra restaurant before, but when my husband took me there for Valentine's Day dinner, it surpassed my previous experiences. They presented a prix fixe menu for the evening, and every option was enticing. The wait staff was very attentive, if a bit formal, and the food was superb. The atmosphere is also quite luxurious,... De La Tierra is part of a Luxury Hotel in Tacos named El Monte Sagrado. Our stay made available a breakfast and a dinner in the restaurant. First you were impressed with the seating area as it offered high ceilings which had a entrance at the higher point of the ceiling to the hotel rooms. Impressive. The seating accommodations were... We ate several meals in the restaurant and through their catering service. The waitstaff were very friendly and easy to work with in adjusting our menu order. Even a "basic" salad with salmon added was delicious and affordable. The tenderloin with mashed potatoes was to die for!

We dined several times while staying at the resort and generally enjoyed all our meals. The food was good but not "great" so it seemed overpriced a bit. The menu could use a few more vegetarian options. The real issue (which is why I'm giving 3 rather than 4 stars) is that the service wasn't up to the prices involved.... More

We chose De La Tierra for our Thanksgiving dinner while in Taos. The food was excellent - the Chile Rubbed Ham was amazing. The hotel where the restaurant is located is absolutely gorgeous.

Reading the other reviews, I can see that our experience is not unique. The dining room (and the rest of the property) are undeniably gorgeous, and the property has undergone a recent change in ownership. This is no excuse, just a reality. Our server was very good, but both of the bison burgers my husband and I ordered were overlooked.... More
