This was probably my third visit to Penny's. There aren't a lot of choices in Vaughn so the place is always busy. The service is friendly and the menu has a wide variety of choices. They serve breakfast all day so this time I had the Big Scramble. It's basically a meaty omlette, hash browns and a pancake. My food... More

24 hour places tend to be dirty, but not this one. The place was clean, the food was good and plentiful and the prices were low.

We like to stop at Penny's on our way from Albuquerque to points SE. It's got a good menu with breakfast served at all times. Service is good and the place is always clean. Typical diner fare. Good rest stop.

We come here for the atmosphere and food. Pros Very good food Reasonably priced Nice efficient real people work here, not one fake smile in the bunch. Cons The floor could be just a little cleaner, it's not gross. Just needs a bit of help

We came across this place by chance and were thrilled. The burgers were exceptional and the staff were fantastic. Definitely worth going in to eat.

Went here as we drove from Denver to Alamogordo. I have had a burger which was not eatable in my opinion, the servant obviously saw that but did not ask if anything was wrong. Even in the smallest town that is not acceptable in my opinion. My companions microwave- meatloaf was acceptable. I will try to never eat there again....

Stopped by while enroute to El Paso TX. Its a nice cozy spot. I ordered the tacos and they were ok nothing that spectacular. You get 4 tacos, rice and beans for 8.99 rice was over cooked you can see the stickiness, beans were ok but flavorless then again in this small town that's probably the best you going to... More

It looks like Vaughn is a hamlet on life support, but Penny's seems to be living well despite the vagaries of its dubious location. Way in the boondocks and a rough boondocks as well, Penny's is a shiny diner with pleasant staff and good food as well. Disregard the sign advertising possum... it's a joke even though the situation might... More

Old fashioned (updated) shiny diner with a few booths/tables and counter/stools. A menu you would expect in a small town diner. Daily specials, blue plate type and the usual sandwiches, burgers etc. Food was good, service was good. There is outdoor dining, weather permitting. Reasonably priced. Parking in the back for trucks, buses and RVs.

Service was good. Food was good and quickly prepared. Usual diner fare. I had chicken fried steak. hubby had cheeseburger and onion rings. Plenty of food, and nice atmosphere. We always stop when traveling to AND from Alburquerque.
