The most hard working barmaid known to man, who is a genius with a shot! Do take the ten shot challenge for eternal infamy on the wall, the Picasso Challenge or a round of Springboks! The most interesting and talented artist owner and the most obliging cook, providing fabulous fresh food with a pretty good steak too! Great atmosphere and... More

Spent some time on the deck overlooking the harbour. Lovely view and great sunsets. Service was friendly and efficient though nothing spectacular. Food was well priced but there are better restaurants in the area. The ribs very average, basted in a regular off the shelf sauce and I found it quite tough...definitely not falling off the bone. Will definitely be... More

De seemans taphuis is a "fisherman" styled bar cum restaurant overlooking the harbour. Service is friendly but not overwelming. Food is limited and average. Prices are ok. On the positive side it was open on a Sunday night when not much else was, but there was nothing overwelming to bring us back.

My wife and I stopped for lunch here. The staff were pleasant but got the order wrong. The hake was nice but the calamari very tough, which is quite unusual in SA. I would say this is a nice place for a beer or two overlooking the harbour but the food is pub grub, not very good

We went here on a previous occasion for drinks, and decided that we must return. So we did. I ordered the Seemans Platter. Mussels were probably undersized, half of the calamari was raw, and the two prawns on the side was.... Uncooked. As in, probably fresh from the ocean uncooked.

After reading the reviews, ten of us arrived at the establishment en-route from Arniston to Capetown. We ordered from an overworked waiter and then proceeded to wait...and wait, and wait. The menu gave a clue to the slow service as it said we should be patient as good food takes time to prepare. The kids chocolate milkshakes arrived first and... More

I am so sorry to hear about your bad experience at our restaurant....Can you please advise when you visited our establishment? I am in the kitchen, preparing the food, most of the time. I can assure you that over December (which is our 'high season') we most definitely do not have any "old stock" or anything that has "freezer burn". Our... More

Welcoming staff found us a lovely outdoor table and served the kids their food and drinks very promptly. Outdoor play area went down well with the kids. Generous portions of tasty and very reasonably priced food. We bought the most expensive red wine available for £7 a bottle, the taste of which was sadly the only cloud on an otherwise... More

The waitresses were incredibly rude, their uniforms had food splatters all over them, and we were made to feel as though we were constantly putting them out. The waitress also didn't know what was on the menu. She had to constantly ask the other waitress. When a member of staff doesn't know what the "Surf n Turf' consists of......you have... More

A rustic little place with a great view of the harbour at sunset. Enjoyable food. Friendly waiter. Relatively good service.

Went there for breakfast this morning. Was kinda greeted by the waitress who did just enough not to be seen as rude. Later another waitress came to set our table. We greeted her and did not even get a reply. We called her a little bit later and asked for another cup of coffee and once again got now verbal... More
