The waitress and staff seemed nice, polite and courteous. However, I ordered a New York strip steak and it was tough, flavorless and pretty much inedible. I ended up bringing 3/4 of it home to my dog.

Recently spent three nights in Bolton Landing, we wanted to stay out of Lake George Village due to the classic car show closing down Canada St. at night, so we opted for dinner close to our hotel. We had read some reviews about the Pumpernickel and decided to give it a try. All in all a good meal with good... More

food is excellent and authentic German, big portions and no disappointments. But if you are looking for an inexpensive meal, this isn't it.

We had a great meal here with our kids. Very authentic German food and great German beer. Portions are huge , so be prepared to take home leftovers. Service was also flawless.

The Best German Meal Ever. As Good as my Oma used to make. All the food we tried was delicious and as authentic German cuisine as one could hope for. A simple but very fresh salad bar starts your journey followed by enormous servings of fabulous fare. We had Potato Pancakes to die for, Veal and Rouladen which I have... More

Went last night with my husband, I am polish and my husband used to live in Germany. The restaurant was very busy, so we had a few cocktails at the bar waiting for our reservation. We were seated and served fresh hot pumpernickel bread which was amazing and crispy. The salad bar is nothing special, just normal american salad bar... More

This Restaurant was recommended from a very fussy German woman who had once owned her own restaurant. We needed to find a special place for a family members Birthday, so decided to give it a try. It is not located on the lake so do not expect a pretty view of the lake. If we had not been given the... More

We always struggle to find good German food in the Capital Region. What a pleasure to have stumbled upon Pumpernickel's! The service is wonderful and the good is exceptional! Huge portions! We splurged on the apple strudel and it was worth every calorie!
