Incredible cuisine, beautiful views, caring friendly staff.

We stumbled across Casa Mika Cafe and found a wonderland of food, friendliness and talent. The garden has a variety of chairs and tables arranged throughout, making the most of the view and the secluded patio. The views are stunning across to the islands, and the ambience is warm and friendly. On arrival one is greeted with smiles and a blackboard menu of creatively thought out and interesting dishes. Vegetarians are catered for well and sympathetically. The food is incredibly well made and cooked, showing experience, care and love. We could have eaten different food everyday had we wanted to, the choice is so varied. The desserts are made beautifully by Mika's expert hands. The pastry is light and the various cakes and tarts totally delectable. There is a varied cocktail board, and the wine served has been chosen with taste and knowledge. Vilankulos has a rare treat in it's town. Don't miss it.

Casa Mika Café will blow you away

Casa Mika Café may have limited business hours, but you should go out of your way to visit. The garden, the ambiance, the food and idyllic setting blew us away. The food is unique and refreshing in an environment that can be a little predictable. I find them reasonably priced when most eateries in Vilankulo have gone a little greedy in the last month with their 25 to 30% increases. One thing though - don’t rush it. Spend some time and let it soak in

Little Gem!

My husband and I recently stayed in Vilanculos on holiday and visited Casa Mika twice. It is a real little gem of a place, with incredible beauty and interest everywhere! The style of decor is very eclectic and refined and gardens are equally beautiful, overlooking the stunning Vilanculos bay area. Lunch was also wonderful - really delicious and obviously thoughtfully put together and carefully prepared. Service was attentive, friendly and professional. A real must-visit in Vilanculos!

Relax, you're on holiday!

Out of season, it is hard to find anything decent open in any place on the Mozambican coast. We used Google to try to find a good place for lunch in Vilanculos but every one we tried had closed down. Eventually, we ended up at Mika's Cafe, almost as a last resort. What luck! Don't be put off by the little dirt driveway and the backside view of this restaurant. At the front there awaits a cool veranda, green haven garden, and a beautiful sea view. Mika and her staff had exactly the right timing - there when we were thinking of ordering something, gone when we were happy. It was tranquil, comfortable, exotic. The fish was excellent and the wine ice cold. Yes, we waited quite a while but then, we were on holiday and had lots of time. The menu for both drinks and eats is quite extensive and caters to all tastes. Highly recommended!

The freshest ingredients, prepared with skill and care

Set in a beautiful cool garden, the cafe offers a considered menu of interesting dishes to make the most of fresh ingredients. My crab salad was excellent, as was the fish carpaccio but everyone cleared their plates with delight. Not a spoonful of dessert was going spare for me to try it. The staff are friendly and welcoming. Overall, can’t be beaten.

Lunch in paradise

Mika has magic in her hands. We had a family lunch and it compares to the best tables we’ve ever dined at. Not only were the ingredients superbly fresh but the preps and sauces were heavenly. We had crab samosas with the perfect balance of crunch and juiciness, an incredibly fresh fish carpaccio, a light and wonderfully satisfying crab salad, a magnificent grilled fish in ginger sauce, and yes an out of this world burger.. We finished with a moist orange and almond cake and a molten chocolate cake with a delicate vanilla ice cream. Even the expresses were just perfect. And the garden is idyllic. If heaven is on earth, a piece of it is in Mika’s garden.

Lovely setting excellent food

Wonderful meal in a lovely setting. We had crab salad, calamari in lime and garlic and mackerel in an onion tomato and ginger sauce. Everything was very tasty and nicely presented. The setting in a yard/garden by the shore was also very nice and the service impeccable

Home from home n twice as nice!

This was such an amazing spot and its varied menu gave a break from straight Mozambique cooking. The influences included French, Asian and Middle East and the flavors exquisite and all cooked with love. Highly recommend this place for food ambience drinks , service and last but not least wine list....loved it!

Looking for a relaxing atmosphere? This is the place to go. It is totally just pure bliss to sit back and relax in the lovely garden with the equally beautiful view over the ocean. The food is always of high quality, beautifully presented end very delicious. Highly recommended!

Most stunning location and food in Vilanculos!!

The most stunning restaurant in Vilanculos. It is located in an oasis of greenery, making it a wonderful spot to visit on a hot or windy day. The food is spectacular, particularly the crayfish pasta. They also had a delicious cocktail menu. All the food and drinks were made with fresh ingredients. We will definitely be back!!

A feeling of comfort and love

Absolute delight!!! Hidden off the main road in a sweet garden setting with splendid view of the sea. The staff; lovely, pleasant and Attentive. The menu planned, prepared and presented with love and perfection If you miss this gem, it would be true shame.

Beautiful setting next Vilanculos Bay. Unique menu. Our dishes were beatifully crafted and balanced. We had the Mushroom Wellington, Spicy Stir Fried Squid. Carrot-halloumi-dill balls plus 1 bottle chilled Rose. Mika is a great hostess.

Great food in an amazing setting

I went to Casa Mica to have lunch with my husband. The setting is very nice, the house is pretty (a bit Moroccan style) and garden very relaxing. Atmosphere’s like being at a friend’s house. Owners are welcoming and offer a very good homemade food. Chocolate fondant for dessert was truly WOW.

It's such a special spot! Warm, genuine smiles greet your arrival. The decor is funky and original and the setting is tranquil. Then there's the food! Always something unusual and delicious to choose, or something more traditional to enjoy. It's a little oasis and the residents here love it! Visitors too are discovering its location - the secret's out! If you haven't been there yet - go on - spoil yourselves!

One of my best places in VK!

This is a true gem. Delicious food, beautiful setting and sublime cocktails. A great deal of care goes into the preparation and you can really feel it in this special place. Whenever I am in VK on holiday I will always make a booking here!
