I have been obsessed with butterflies since I can remember so naturally when I was in Queretaro my Fiance took me here! It's an old school cafe feel but don't let the inside deter you, it's such a special place. The enchiladas are my favourite but the tortas are great too! There is a small bakery on the other side... Slow paced... the place is stuck in the 70s, small portions of food with good quality. Prices are acceptable still you may need two main dishes to be ok. Recommend taking the "Mantecado Malteada" quite good. Juste be patient as they take their time.

My wife and I had breakfast at La Mariposa restaurant in December 2016. There was a crowd of people waiting for a table and we decided to give our name and take our turn. The service was excellent: fast and courteous; the food delicious; the restaurant decor pleasant and the prices reasonable. We recommend this place.

Yum. Yum. Yum. And just the atmosphere and feel of this place made me feel the rich history found in this ever growing town. And order the mantecado (ice cream). Still haven't pinpointed all the flavours but so good.

Hello there. I was suggested to eat at this restaurant because they serve local food. Dishes look good. Good portion and taste is great. Prices are accesible for a budget traveler however service is not as good as the food. We waited about 15 min for service to take our order and another 20 to get the food. So if... More

The best place for Dulces Cristalizados and ice cream. Inexpensive place for Breakfast or Lunch in the city center.

I really enjoyed re-visiting this restaurant at Queretaro center. The flavours on their meals have prevailed and the service is very good. I enjoyed my enchiladas suizas and the milkshakes they serve are delicious. Good food in a good not fancy place. great for me.

This place is just plain boring, locals love it, and I think is mainly because they are used to the idea and food because people have been going there for generations. The atmosphere of the place although it's supposed to be old, is depressing-old. The waitresses are rude, the food is so much better in the streets than here and... More

I usually figure a restaurant is good if it is filled with locals. Such was the case during our visit to La Mariposa. The idea it hadn't changed much since the 1940s was really attractive. Waitresses in identical diner-style dresses with tables and chairs that very likely dated from the mid-century as well, gives the visitor a sense that they... More
