We had a very nice meal one recent afternoon. My sandwich of smoked salmon was delicious. My wife's soup and quiche were very good. All was very authentically French right down to the dijon vinaigrette. But BEWARE- it is CASH ONLY. We checked the menu...online and knew what we wanted before going. The waitstaff seated us outside without us going inside. So we just ordered. Yes, there is a notice INSIDE and on the printed menu of Cash Only but we obviously saw neither. The online menu does NOT say cash only. The owner was quite snippy about it. A trip to the CVS next door for an ATM added $8 to the cost of a not inexpensive meal. Since Cash Only is so unusual in the US and France (and I've spent over 380 nights in France) it seems only right they tell people when they sit down (or maybe they lose too much business). I'm ambivalent of the rating since the food and staff, other than the owner, were good. BTW: This would not have been a surprise in Germany.More

Service is curt and rude. We had to ask for water 3 times. It was a long wait for our order to arrive. The chicken that was thrown in with the omelette was disgusting. It was ROCK HARD- as if it had been left out...for days. When we brought this up with the staff, the response was “Is this a joke?”. They then asked us to leave immediately, but not without charging us for the inedible food.More

This place was such a sweet, delicious find for a Sunday Brunch on a very cold winter morning in Hudson! The owner and staff were friendly and service was fast. The decor was so cozy and felt like you were visiting France. The croque madame...was TO DIE FOR! Do not miss visiting this sweet spot. ** Cash only!More

I rented a house in Hudson for November and each weekend I had different friends visiting -- each week, it was a required visit to Le Gamin Country for Brunch. There's a very kind and knowledgeable young man that led the floor most of the...times I visited. he has great hospitality and the food was always delicious. Highly reccomend getting there early for Brunch.More

Stopped there unexpectedly. What a wonderful surprise! Food and service were amazing. The overall atmosphere was lovely and so nostalgic of France. Having grown up there my whole life, I would know. Highly recommend to check out this place if you’re into authentic French cuisine!

Good enough food, fast and edgy not calm and relaxed atmosphere. Too New York City for my taste but smashing for a Sunday brunch

Le Gamin really feels like a little slice of Paris. I spent some time in Paris a few years back and have been longing for a place to "bring me back". The atmosphere is quaint and rustic, and the food and service were great! I...had a savory crepe with ham, swiss and egg, and my boyfriend ordered a croque madame. Both meals felt very true to what you could find in a cafe from the streets Paris :)More

Le Gamin Country has the ambience of a true French restaurant. The antiques and small tables lend a lot of charm, which is its strong point. I had a hard time deciding what to order, but I got a crepe and mom got a sandwich....All in all, decent food and passable service. Looks like locals spend a long time eating and chatting in Le Gamin Country---just like they do in France.More

We enjoyed a lovely little lunch of quiche for me and crepes for him. The furniture was comfy with pillows everywhere. Loved the flooring and the eclectic decor. Our service was excellent and it was a busy Saturday

Food here is excellent, and the service very good. We were seated at a sidewalk table on a beautiful day. I had the Le Croque Madame with the sunnyside egg on top. Delicious! The chantaco juice (Pineapple, orange & cranberry) was refreshing. The decor is...very different and eclectic. They have a large selection of crepes which I will try next time I'm in town.More
