Ordered 40 medium wings that were a lot hotter than they normally would be. Also ordered a large pizza which was burnt all around the the top about 3". Called to complain and got an explanation about recipe. No offer to correct the order. We...won't be going back anytime soon! Used to be our favorite spot for wings in town.More
Back two years later and dropped into the Sportsman. I found some great wings locally such as at the Falcons and Rookies in Dunkirk but I reckon the Sportsman to still be the best. The place was rammed, easily the busiest that I have seen...in years, may be it is because of Margie, a great waitress offering brilliant service with a smile despite being super busy.More
They were nice enough to give a gift certificate to a local fundraiser, I won. I ordered a 12 inch pizza (their largest), cheese and pepperoni, I also requested a double order of wings. When I got there to pick it up, it was ready...and waiting. When I got home, I found the pizza was slightly under-cooked (raw dough in the center). The wings were cooked perfectly, but I don't use bleu cheese dressing and they had poured a approximately a cup and a half of dressing in the foam container that was made to hold a cup. Needless to say I did not eat half of them as they were coated with the dressing, spouse and daughter-in-law gladly finished them. The wings came in a foam clam shell that you would normally get at a chicken bbq (no separate cover on the dressing). The celery was also soaking in the dressing.More
This seems to be a local bar withpainfully loud music. That in itself made for a poor experience even after the manager turned the music down. It was still very loud. The service was very slow esp considering there was only one other table being...served. Apparently they ran out of food in the kitchen.I won't go back because the wait was well over an hour with little explanation.More

We stopped in for lunch with 4 adults and two teenagers one teenager wanted a grilled cheese. The waitress/cook said “I’m not gonna lie, I’m not making a grilled cheese. We are way too busy.” We were the only ones in there. Extremely disappointing we...have been getting wings there on vacation for yrs and the place declines more every yr! We walked out. we stopped to eat here after playing miniature golf in Irving, The food was really good, staff was friendly and I will return when in the neighborhood again ! My only complaint was that the when we ordered a drink from the bar, we did...not get the happy hour special of buy one, get one, because we were seated and not at the bar. Was not a big deal!! Wish they had a sign, or told us that is was cash only!!! we were there with four adults, and two kids. I would have bought all the meals, but didn't have sufficient cash and had to let my son in law pay his share!More

This is a CASH ONLY establishment! We drove 45 minutes to pick up wings here. The wings were ok, but seemed overdone to me. The homemade blue cheese dressing is really good, but I wish the wings had been better.
I love sportsmans and I come here every time I come back to the Buffalo area. The wings were better last year, don't get my wrong they are still great and reasonably priced. But the suicide wings last year, were so hot I had tears...running down my face. Today I had them and I ate them all without even having anything to drink. They need to make them hotter in my opinion or bring back last years recipe. They still have the best wings around! Great service too!More
If you are looking for great chicken wings, buffalo style, this is they place to go. They are crispy and sauce is amazing!!!!! Blue cheese is beyond fantastic. Fish fry is really good too. Bar is in front and there is a divider between bar...and dining. I think it is kid friendly but you do hear bar talk from dining space. Best wings by farMore
Just as good of wings as you could want. The beef on weck was very good. And waffle fries good as well. Just a nice little neighborhood bar.
Delicious chicken wings! Though was crowded and a bit cold from the door opening frequently but the wings were fantastic.
What else can I say? We stop in once a year on our annual boat trip to sunset bay. Best wings around, friendly bartenders and reasonable prices. Cash only here, but they an onsite ATM.
The best wings you will ever have. Homemade blue cheese dip always fresh to enjoy. Great bar atmosphere for locals or visitors to tourist area !
