My business associate and I came for dinner after reading reviews on TA. We were not disappointed. The hostess remembered our names and addressed us by name whenever she passed the table. I have never experienced this before and appreciated the attention. The food was excellent. Fish was fresh and portions were large. I had a red snapper with vegetables... More

I use to leave in New York and remembered when The Door was a small cover restaurant with exceptional food. I went back to visit and The Door had transformed to a fine dining restaurant. One thing that has not change is how awesome the food is. Took my family there for breakfast and we had a great time. The... More

Let me begin by saying how delicious the food was and how sweet of a waiter Odane was to myself and group of friends. My friends and I chose to eat at The Door because it was nearby a concert we just left. Table for 4 please. The host took my name and proceeded to tell me that it was... More

Waited for over 2 hours when promised the buffet. Buffet was broken down and THEN we were seated and after the seating they wanted to move us after a e hour wait. No one offered a discount or an apology for the lack of service. Left STARVING. PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT.

Arrived with reservation and waited 1 hour to be seated. Waiter was unsympathetic and could not answer questions about menu.

If you are overnight on a layover at JFK and staying on "hotel row", the Door is a great little gem of a restaurant. Authentic Caribbean, nice Jerk Chicken... and Red Stripe. Prices are also very reasonable and staff is friendly. It is about a 10 minute taxi or Uber ride.
