We stopped there with my husband, children and grandchildren. Greeter at door ignored us when we came in. Then rolled her eyes at us we said we did not have a reservation . It was 5 pm and parking lot not even near half. You could clearly see the restaurant was less than half used on hibachi or regular seating... More

Sake is the latest restaurant to occupy the space that was originally a Howard Johnson's Restaurant dating back to the '50s. In the interim it's been a fern bar, (Bennigan's), an attempt at a high-end steakhouse in a mid-range part of town, and now, Sake, an Asian (mostly Japanese) place with creditable food and drink in a handy location for... I dined here expecting a sushi centered restaurant, but the menu suggested that this is another pan asian restaurant. It offers Thai food, Vietnamese food and it does offer sushi. Service is courteous, the furnishings are nice and modern though some seating is uncomfortable and you hear your neighbors conversations. Prices are a bit high. I'm not sure that if... More

I have gone to four Japanese restaurants in the Albany area and this is the best one yet. Nice atmosphere and food was good. Would go here again.

I have eaten at 4 different Japanese restaurant in the Albany area over the last month or so. Of those this is the best. It's ambiance is pleasing, the service was attentive and efficient, the food was well prepared and very tasty and the sauces were a good compliment to the meal. This restaurant also offers both clear soup and... More

You wouldn't normally go for sushi at a Teppanyaki place. But having heard a recent rec we took our chances. And we're glad we did because it was very nice. Creative rolls (loved the special "wasabi snap"), and the Uni was good. Nice sake selections as well, as one would hope. Will be here again, I'm sure.

We tried Sake for the first time. No reason to hurry back. The food was half way decent, but the service quite poor. Three meals came out after a while, but had to wait another 10 minutes for the fourth. Place was half empty but very noisy.
