THis is a beautiful place to stroll along and just take in the scenery. The locks themselves and the history behind them are amazing. Even on a cold day you can enjoy this. I recommend taking the kids along and explaining the history of the canal and the area. It is well worth the time.

An argument could be made that the most important man made waterway in the history of world is New York's Erie Barge Canal. It made New York the Empire State, opened the American West and even effected European History. None of this... More

We did not eat at the facility. We took a cruise through the two locks going into lake Erie. Learned that people and bikers can walk on the northern side of the canal from Lockport to the Hudson River. The crew were attentive and informative. Glad we did this, however, after going through the Panama Canal this was not quite... More

We had a nice buffet and then the canal ride. The staff was pleasant and well informed on canal facts.

This trip takes you a short distance up and down the Erie Canal and through the locks. Enjoyed all the history of the canal. The crew was knowledgeable and made the trip very entertaining.

If you visit Lockport, one place you need to stop is the Erie Canal. And to get your best view, it's from the water. Lockport Locks and Erie Canal Cruises does just that, taking you through the only double set of locks along the Erie Canal. Mike and Sharon Murphy do an excellent job and it's also a great place... Located downtown Lockport, the locks of the Erie canal are in the process of being restored. There is adequate FREE parking close by and viewing of the locks is very easy with a particularly superb view from the bridge over the canal. There is also a museum but we arrived past closing time! The locks themselves are really impressive -... More
