Along Rt9w in Marlboro is the crusty exterior of the raccoon saloon in the center of town. This is a class A burger and sandwich place with large portions and items cooked to perfection. We had the 12 Oz burgers on the rear patio. It...overlooks a waterfall with the river in the distance. Prices are appropriate and the atmosphere was lovely.More
Great Music, Great Atmosphere, Great Food, Pet Friendly! Perfect place to relax over dinner and enjoy live music!
Even though it was hot, we chose to eat outside because of Covid-19. We had a nice little table in the back overlooking a beautiful gorge with a lake in the distance. My wife had a Caesar salad that she loved, and I had a...burger and sweet potato fries that were both delicious. The sweet potato fries are among the best I've ever had. Another highlight was the homemade ketchup that tasted a little like sweet salsa. My wife ate it all up by dunking her croutons in it.More
Had to wait a while for a table, but had good service once we were seated. Restaurant was a bit noisy with a large party near us, and nothing to absorb the sound. The veggie lasagne seemed to have been made with jarred tomato sauce,...but did have a lot of vegetables. The salads were very good.More
Great food....amazing burger...service is friendly and attentive. Great place to go with family or friends.
Excellent food ... generous portions - a bit pricey - dont be fool by the building it looks terrible but once inside is much better ...
Homemade ketchup and always amazing fries. Located in the heart of Marlboro. All of the food is great. Check it out
Weeknight, party of 8 for a birthday dinner. Server was friendly, but I'm guessing inexperienced. She was not attentive at all. It was 6:00 PM when we arrived, and there were very few customers there, so I cannot chalk it up to being overwhelmed or...busy. Drink orders were taken, and about half of us were just drinking water. Water pitchers on the table were never refilled during our visit, despite being empty when our meals were brought to us. Server was practically non-existant once meals were brought. We were in a side room away from the bar, and ad to go find a server to bring something as simple as a condiment which had been asked for 2x. We had a mix of different meals, a few burgers, and a couple entrees. All were average at best, and not cooked properly/to order. Not bad food, but not very good either... average, and, I feel, a bit over-priced for the quality. Parking can be tough here, but not overly so....it's limited to street and a couple small local lots. This was my first visit here, and I know many people who have talked (good) about this place for years... I don't see the justification for the hype.More
A rustic charmer and a pleasure to sit either in the bar area or at a table; the food is excellent and the wait staff is very attentive. The restaurant can bet busy at times but it is worth the crowd since it is warm...and comfortable.More
Stopped by here for a late lunch - early dinner! Great savory Onion Soup with lots of melted cheese on top. My friends had a delicious burger with cheese and the mussels in the garlic sauce! Everything was good! Service was super fast and the...wait staff was knowledgable and friendly. They also have s great view out the windows of the Hudson River and the restaurant hangs over the Marlboro falls!More
I think it’s time to close the doors and let someone who cares about their customers give it a try. I have been going to the Racoon Saloon for years. The food quality has gradually been getting worse and worse. So this past visit will...be my last...! My wife and I wanted to stay local so we decided to go to the Racoon, like we use to. We arrived early in the evening and our server was very friendly. I want to be clear, the server was very nice and should probably look for a job in a nice restaurant. Ok, so we ordered our food. Kept it simple, with 2 appetizers and we shared the larger burger. The appetizers were extremely small and one of the dipping sauces was cold Queso Cheese from the dollar store..! Our dinner was their house speciality ( lg size cheese burger ).. The burger itself was ok, the onion rings and the stale roll, left a lot to be desired..!! This establishment can no longer survive on it past reputation..! It’s truly a shame that some place that was once very special is now someplace to avoid.More
We ate here for lunch. The burgers were good and were huge! Ketchup is homemade and not our favorite. The waitress was very nice.
It was on a Sunday night. The younger waitress needs help in remembering to bring out an extra dish when asked for it. She NEVER came by once and asked us how our meal was. I ordered the bow tie pasta from the menu with...chicken, sun dried tomatoes and broccoli rabe in a garlic cream sauce. Plenty of pasta, chicken and sun dried tomatoes in the dish. The chef skimped on the broccoli rabe by giving slivers of green stems/stalks in the dish, not one bud nor leaf- could not taste the flavor of the broccoli rabe,; also the garlic "cream" sauce, you couldn't even see it in the dish! Maybe 3 small slivers of garlic in the entire dish. A cream sauce should have some cream in it - it was very diluted. Had a side salad, one size was $8.95 - ridiculous price - but it was a huge salad which I didn't want. Also I asked for raw onions on my salad, maybe the chef skimped again and finely diced 1 slice into the salad???wtf..could not even find one onion or taste an onion. Overall VERY disappointed with this restaurant to say the least, wore my jacket during whole meal. They ran out of propane in their heater. I will NOT be back!More
Very nice choice for lunch with friends. Restaurant was located on major highway making parking very difficult. Restaurant has a lot of charm with excellent views out of the tables in the back. Menu was nice, service was satisfactory and food was excellent. Will definitely...go back and highly recommend to others.More
