A nice surprise! We had pulled pork, shrimp platter, and pizza. All were very good! Our server was young but attentive.
We spend our summers in New Paltz & always try to support local restaurants. We were getting together with friends & they suggested this place, which was new to us. I had the BBQ brisket sandwich, which was very good. Since we are from KC,...I of course compared the BBQ to what we have back home. It was very good.......different...........but good. The portion for my sandwich was small. Our friends shared a duck & they liked it. The fries I had with my sandwich was ok. The beans were not. The beans were like they just came out of the can. The service was excellent. He offered suggestions as we ordered that were good. He was nice & friendly. Prices were quite high compared to most other restaurants in the area for what you get.More
We had dinner here on Father's Day. We had a half a rack of ribs which came with two sides - chose potato salad and Cole slaw. We also ordered the sampler BBQ - wings, pulled pork, brisket, ribs and homemade cornbread, From the raw...bar we ordered shrimp and oysters. Beer and a glass of wine rounded out our order. The bill came to just over $80 for two..with lots to take home. This place is rustic…your order is served on paper plates..there is a silverware caddy on the table with plastic forks etc. The servers were prompt and competent with our order. The food was very very good. Homemade potato salad and Cole slaw…ribs and sampler came with two kinds of bbq sauce..vinegar base and tomato base..Excellent BBQ..this is the real deal..going back Friday to try the wood fire pizza…More
We had Brad from John Fazio Farms cater a party celebrating several important milestones in our family. Brad and his sous chef Benito were incredibly professional. We were faced not only with the challenge of social distancing but also our party was outside in a...large tent during tropical storm Fay! Brad’s presentation of the food was amazing, and when the skies opened up and the tents did not do the job, Brad and Benito quickly sprang into action and made sure our guests were well taken care of under extremely difficult circumstances. The food was beyond fresh and some of the best cuisine we have ever tasted. We are a family of foodies, and we can’t say enough about the food. From the very beginning Brad built the menu around us. We basically gave him very little information to start with, telling him we wanted to go high end bbq, and he produced the perfect menu getting our input throughout the process. And then he surprised us with the most delicious fresh vegetable add ons the day of the party. Have I mentioned yet that the food was incredible? We just can’t say enough about the outstanding quality of John Fazio Farms’ food and service. Every one of our guest commented on how amazing the food and services was. We will definitely have them back for future parties.More
After a long day exploring the Vanderbilt Mansion and FDR's Home and Library, we just wanted to go back to our AirBnB to relax. Stopped at John Fazio to pick up carryout BBQ -- very tasty! Only complaint is that they should give you more...BBQ sauce!More
This restaurant was near our B&B and we were glad we tried it. The barbeque was excellent. We lived in Tennessee for five years so we know good barbeque. This is the real thing. The only downside was that it was very noisy. It was...the weekend with huge tables of family and friends who were having a good time. Would come back if we were in the area.More
I kept hearing about this place on TripAdvisor, so I was definitely curious to try it. We were tempted to try the rabbit, but chickened out (will definitely try it on the next visit). I got a pizza with half smoked chicken and half brisket....I am so stunned how good this was. I did not think I liked arugula, but it was a perfect balance with the brisket side of the pizza. The thin crust was light and delicious. My husband had a duck taco and pastrami taco. Blew Hudson Taco out of the water. He had a side of baked beans and potato salad which were also extremely tasty. I called two friends while there to set plans for future visits. The man we believe is the owner was so super friendly and made great suggestions of foods to try. They even let my husband try a beer before he bought it. Highly highly recommend.More
I was driving by and found this gem of a BBQ place. I ordered food to go. I am SO happy I grabbed a menu, I will definitely be back soon for a sit down dinner. Delicious tasty Pulled Pork, with very fresh sides. I...can’t wait to come back. Only downside, I wish I lived closer!!More
My wine-tasting buddy and I planned a day trip to visit Brotherhood and Whitecliff wineries (see reviews for these, too) and have lunch. Fazio's is perfect! Very easy to get to, a mile or so east of NY 32 on NY 44. Small, unassuming building,...good parking lot delineated with apple boxes (BIG ones) with tomatoes and other plants growing in them. What a tantalizing entrance. BBQ & pizza - pizza oven greets you on entrance, along with small bar featuring local wines and craft beers/ciders. Menu offers a variety of items. Rabbit and duck are farm-raised; pork and beef are local. Marji and I both selected the pulled pork, which was very tasty. Service was friendly and fast. Local artwork and items on the wall, including a number of deer 'trophies'. Some local and some Italian items (food and otherwise) for sale. We'd visited Brotherhood - and decided we'd come back to Fazio's after tasting at Whitecliff - for Jane's ice cream! On our way out, we saw a sign for Fresh Real Key Lime pie, so when we returned for our ice cream, we bought a pie and the gentleman was kind enough to cut it in half so we could each have some for dessert that evening! So many wineries/cideries in the area - we'll be heading back down that way and will be lunching at Fazio's again!More
My family stopped here for lunch before checking into the Rocking Horse Ranch and what an experience! Def better than any chain. The place is neat with deer heads and exposed wood paneling. The food was even better. We had the smoked duck pizza which...was delicious. My toddler and preschooler enjoyed eating that. And service is fast. There were no crying kids with how fast food was made. My husband also had the pulled pork sandwich and I had the smoked ribs. Everything was fantastic.More
I've been here twice. The first time on a weekend was great, the second time (midweek) not as good. Not sure if there are different cooks. They offer BBQ rabbit and duck too.
Don't let the looks of this place for you! This place was recommended To Us by a local and I'm so glad we listened! We ended up getting pizza instead of their Famous BBQ . That was a hard decision because their barbecue is rated...so highly. We had the "Four Star caciocavallo cheese pizza". We added Pepperoni. Each corner is stuffed with a different cheese flavor. Red pepper, black pepper, garlic and traditional cheese. This place is a must try if you are in the area!More
Farm to table bbq and pizza. Menu was extensive and filled with great options. Definitely will go back when I’m up in NY again. Worth the stop if you’re nearby. Fall of the bone ribs. Also, the wine they serve is pretty good & also...local.More
After taking a hike through the snow, my family and I were in need of a good place to refill. Upon arriving, the staff was very nice and treated us as if we were old friends. Once everyone took a bite of their food, the...table was full of everyone saying how good the food was! I got the pulled pork sandwich, and for someone who isn’t a big fan of BBQ, I was blown away! All in all, this is a vey good place to stop and relax with some good, old fashion, BBQ.More
