We had a 6:00 reservation and were seated right on time. The restaurant was packed and everyone seem to be enjoying their meals. Our waitress was Rachel. She was AWESOME ! I have dined at this restaurant many times but have not reviewed Lakeview in several years. Happily, I can report that the food is still very good. I ordered the stuffed sole with rice and salad. The fish was flaky, moist, and fresh. The service...would have been rated excellent except for one problem. Most restaurants have free refills on iced tea and if the refills are not free, there is a disclaimer on the menu, or there is some notice that the refills are not free. I ordered one iced tea and two additional refills, mostly of ice, without the server notifying me that the refills were not free. I was surprised to see, on the bill, that I was charged for the three iced tea, of mostly ice.More

We were longtime patrons of the Lakeview House! Having moved to Myrtle Beach SC, this was our first visit in over 3 years. Everything was just as it was, delicious food, great service and a wonderful atmosphere. Tori greeted us like it was yesterday. The Lakeview House is adjacent Orange Lake. Lovely views from both indoor and outdoor dining. We enjoyed lunch on a nice afternoon. We had a reservation at noon, as the restaurant was opening. We were the first diners to be seated, at least outside. Waiter...was very knowledgeable and plenty friendly, but he surprised us when he brought my beverage to my wife - we were a party of two and it was the only food or beverage he'd brought out so it seemed like he would have remembered who ordered the beverage. That was really quite minor - just surprising. Our food came out promptly and was delicious. My wife wanted to lick the from her plate the excess Asian sauce over the short ribs - it was that good. My shrimp tacos were stuffed full. Prices were acceptable. We definitely plan to dine here again.More

My wife and I have been going here on and off with my boys and friends for over 33 yrs. I've never wrote a bad review but I have to share last night's experience. First a table that sat after us were served appetizers and...wine before us,waitress (Lori) had explained they ordered appetizers with drinks. She never gave us that option,OK I accepted that. Lori couldn't even catch her breath while explaining to us,they had a function earlier. I understood that,being in the Hotel Bussiness for over 40 yrs. I know service and quality,well both of these suffered-bacon wrapped shrimp seemed like it was from earlier function. Dry and roumalade sauce had a crust on top. Duck was ok-we took our dessert to go. At home looked at desserts and my chocolate pecan pie was hard as a rock,same with my wife's apple crumb. Again probably leftover from function. INEXCUSABLE!!!!! - it bothered me so much I called back and got Tori( mngr )- she was very empathetic but I had to say to her to adjust the bill,taking desserts off bill. She replies the bill might be processed already,I then said just send in an adjustment. I'm still waiting to see the result. We were very disappointed with service and quality of food especially since we never had this happen there before. It was our Anniversary too!! Believe me I will keep sharing this experience !More

We love eating here when we travel to Newburgh. Up-scale/casual is the way to describe it. Jeans and shorts acceptable as it is frequented by people who live right on the lake as well as people who don't, but love to look at it. Food...is SO good -- my favorite is when they have Ahi tuna salad wraps, but it's all good. Wait staff is friendly and atmosphere is uplifting.More

Good food and a pleasant atmosphere in a small restaurant. The food was good but nothing wow. Everything was pleasant and our while party enjoyed what they ordered, no one was chomping at the bit to return.Staff were nice but not overly attentive. For example...our bread was burnt but they gave it to us anyway, no cutlery was given when they brought desert or soup. We had to ask for everything we needed. No forethought by anyone. Overall it was a nice dinner but we will try others before we return here.More

This was a great experience and I chose it because of the reviews on here. Thanks to all if you we enjoyed an amazing meal. The lobster crab cakes were great and the Salmon Rangoon appetizer sublime. Short Ribs were so tender and the Halibut...special was delicious. Peanut Butter Mousse dessert was amazing. Everything was super fresh! This was seriously one of the best meals I’ve had in ages! The building is really cute and the outdoor patio is a Great Lake view. The service was very slow between courses but we were not in a rush so it was relaxing. Server was really lovely. Go visit. Wonderful food and outdoor dining. You will need a reservation. All employees wore a mask. But one waitress refused to wear it instead wore it over her chin. I thought when she came to take order she would put it down. But no. No one...eating at a table wants to start trouble and get in a confrontation with a server. It was extremely uncomfortable and I can’t imagine every diner didnt feel the same. It is the law. Hopefully someone at the restaurant sees this and will ask the waitress to put the mask down for the safety of the patronsMore

26 Years ago we lived on Lakeside Road, we got married at Our Lady of the Lake, and we celebrated with a whole slew of family and friends at the Lakeview House. It was amazing, it was lovely, and we were treated so special. Not...much has changed. We are still on Lakeside, we still go to Our Lady of the Lake, we always go on our anniversary, (something that you just cannot do a a big box venue), we are still treated like we were the most important visitors ever, and most importantly we are still married. Now I don't know if the Lakeview had anything to do with that, but the food is still great and the place is still fun. Try it!More

We have been going to the Lakeview house for years. We recomend it regularly to people visiting. The service is always excellent, the food delicious and the view is beautiful. However, what more than anything else makes me love Lakeview is that during covid lockdown...they stayed open and continued to serve the community. They adapted their restaurant so that we could continue to celebrate our special occasions while at home. They adapted their menus so that takeout was easy, convenient and safe. My husband and I are both essencial workers by them staying open and continuing to offer excellent food they played a huge role in allowing us to relax a enjoy after a long day of often stressful work. We are so thankful that they were there for us and we will always be grateful.More

We go to the Lake View when we want a guaranteed great dinner, nice service staff and beautiful view. We had our wedding there 17 years ago and is a family staple.
