They seated us right away even though no reservation.. attentive service and huge portions of great food!

We decided to dine north of The Great Sacandaga Lake. Always a good idea to have reservations on a weekend. This place usually fills fast. We were greeted quickly and seated. Our server told us about their many specials along with their good sized menu....They had a nice wine/beer selection. The fish tacos were prepared nicely and had a lot of flavor. My wife went with the Greek salad. I tried the french onion soup which was made to perfection.For the main course, I choose the king prime rib. It was cooked just the way I wanted. The fat could have been trimmed a little better but it wasn't a problem. However what I didn't like was the fact that the cook put my side of pasta in the same dish as my prime rib.You can't mix the juice of beef with sauce. I have never seen this done before. I did mention this to our server. Everything else was fine. Its a relaxed atmosphere and the prices were reasonable. We will return.More

This was our favorite restaurant during our 4 day stay in the area. Unfortunately, we did not make a reservation. It was a Thursday evening in the middle of nowhere and we didn't think it was going to be necessary. We were wrong. This restaurant...is incredibly busy and offers wonderful food. We loved it. He had to wait over an hour for a table, but it was worth it. Be sure to try out this restaurant, you will be happy you did.More

Six of us went on a Friday night during peak tourist season at the Great Sacandaga Lake. Arrived 20 minutes early for 6:45 reservation. Bartender nailed the drinks and we were seated right at 6:45. Menu is incredible with choices to meet all tastes. And...this is not just pub food. Prime Rib was tender and perfectly cooked (get the queen version, most human beings could not consume the King which 3 of us ordered). Quality pasta, chicken, fish, and steak choices available. And the French onion soup was outstanding served in a small metal crock. The place was full of locals. Prices very reasonable. We have a place at the lake and be here again.More

This is my second visit here - I left a review after my first visit back in 2015. I decided to leave that post up because, well - it happened, it's real, and that's just the way it is sometimes. This time though - the...planets aligned and all went well. Superb actually. I had the Chicken Cordon Bleu and the chef nailed it, everything was awesome - my GF's dinner was equally perfect. We left stuffed and happy. The server was awesome and everything was on-point. We will be coming back here - for sure.More

Wow! We were quite surprised and so happy to have found this GEM of a place. We were visiting Lake George and traveled around the area. Yes its a bit far away about 1 hour drives but the scenery is amazing. The drive was worth...it for the fabulous food. The service was excellent.More

Stopped in for a late bite after a long hike up the mountain. Greated warmly. No problem ordering even 20 minutes before closing. Large selections but both decided burgers were in order after the fried mozzarella stick appetizer. Very friendly staff and the bartender behind...the bar was very personable. He might be the owner. The burgers were both cooked perfectly to order and the meat very high quality. Excellent hand cut fries. One of the best meals we've had in the ADKs in ten years of camping. Wish we had found it years earlier.. We will be back.More

We stopped in quick for a drink and a bite!! The bartender was great and funny!! We moved to a table and had great service!! The menu had something for everyone. We had grilled rack of lamb and prime rib. The menu offers many litter...choices as well. Burgers, pannni, salads and pasta dishes. A must stop if in the area!!!!More

The Alpine has some of the best fish dishes in a 60 mile radius. I would highly recommend the Alpine Haddock. All the food is good.
