We checked into the Lodge (I reviewed this too) then had lunch. French onion soup was good, solid and we shared a Rueben which was aso very nice. Good menu selection, fair prices. Décor is warm and inviting.

Stopped eating there because the food was awful. Prices are high. Service not so great. Surprised they are still in business.

Worst food and service we have had in years. Food was either out of a can or over cooked. Service was totally non-existent. Was never asked if we needed drinks and had to ask for the champagne. Got up 5 times to get my own water. Once while two server's were standing right next to me by the drink table... More

Menu very heavy on meat..and more meat. And lots of it. Finally settled on a pulled pork sandwich and it came double sized. Too much BBQ sauce made it very unappealing. Sweet potato fries were under done. Even though I barely touched the meal the waitress did not even ask if everything was ok. Passing this one by, next time.

Met family members here Wed. after Christmas. 6 of us. The relish tray was good. Had a nice dip (I presume honey mustard) that had a good kick to it. Bread was served with a dipping oil containing herbs. Pretty good. Entrees were okay but nothing great. I got the flat iron steak and it was medium rare (which I... More

Fred's Inn is a long-standing and reliable eatery in Norwich, NY. The menu is low key fare, nothing very fancy. But the items they have are good solid casual food. There are a number of televisions (large, flat screen, ceiling mounts), the bar is quite sizable, and the dining room is also large. We are not fans of the all-you-can-eat... More

We went to Fred's Inn for the buffet and were less than impressed. They do have a large buffet with many varied choices but unfortunately not of it was very tasty. Food all seemed processed....nothing fresh from main courses to side dishes to desserts. We wouldn't go back or recommend.

Referred here by many. A small 'homey' restaurant. It is well known for it's steaks. Small tables for couples and larger room for groups. And if you enjoy yourself too much there are rooms to be had.

Description
Rocco’s Inn was owned between 1933 and 1935 by Rocco Battista. The restaurant was sold in 1941 to Fred Biermien who named the restaurant Fred’s Inn. Fred sold half interests in the business to Carl Genneris and Mudd Fuller in 1952. Wolfgang Bogler purchased the Inn in 1974. The restaurant was then purchased in 1977 by Armando “Chick” Cirello who currently owns and operates the business with his partner and son, David. Fred’s boasts of fine casual dining for groups of 2-200. In 1998 six upscale guest rooms were added to the property. Two years later Fred’s Inn was home to 25 guest rooms with amenities including high speed internet access in every room, Jacuzzi suites with fireplaces, a handicapped accessible room with man down alarm, microwaves, hairdryers, irons, and complimentary coffee pots.
