COVID has not been kind to this café, which now looks worn, a bit grimy and low on stock – dusty out of date tins of tea on dirty shelves, lackluster service. Tired in every way...perhaps this café needs to retire?

Runcible Spoon is a great stop by in Nyack, on a popular corner, and good for bikers. Good assortment of baked goods, and mainstream coffee offerings, If you are in the area, its a "go-to", but not a destination. There are other cafes nearby that...enhance the towns offerings.More

Stopped in at the end of the day and the staff were clearly not pleased to have customers come in 30 min. Before closing. We were served, grudgingly, and the sandwiches were fine. That said, if a place is open until six, then staff should...be welcoming to customers until then and not act like our presence is putting them out.More

We love this place. On nice day when we get out on our bikes this is typically our stop when heading back to the city.

On a perfect Sunday morning, we needed a place that would welcome a baby and a leashed dog. We didn't want overly formal. Runcible Spoon advertises it is friendly to bike riders. That suggested it might work for us too. When we arrived, we found...lots of bike riders outside, but a table quickly opened. We had varied interests in food. I went for the pancakes. Others wanted the gourmet sandwiches. The coffees and lattees were wonderful. The sandwiches hit the spot. But, all agreed, these were the best pancakes on earth. I wish we lived nearer. We'll be back.More

Great little bakery and breakfast spot. Coffee was good. Omelette, "California Sunrise" was perfect. Lots of great muffins and other baked goods and sandwiches on offer. I sat in the window and watched the Sunday morning progress as a plethora of cyclists of all shapes...and sizes stop in for a bite or drink and then head off on their respective journeys.More

I stopped at the Runcible Spoon while on a bike trip between Manhattan and West Point. My special order of a smoothie made with no ice, just lots of fruit and orange juice, was graciously filled. There was a place outside to fill water bottles...and an air pump was also available.More

Popular with bicycle riders, it's a great place for lunch. They have pre-made wraps decent coffee and of course plenty of bakery items. There was a long line when we got there but because the food is pre made, the line goes fast.

I've been here many times over the last decade. I never thought that the food was bland or poor. I always enjoyed it. I don't have a favorite thing here but I'll always come in when the mood suits. It's a Bakery not a fancy...one but dependable. I guess if you're a skinny bike fanatic no food tastes good. That's why you're skinny, right? The line goes out the door for several reasons. Location is one but quality matters too. They're down there a good long time for a reason!More

I have been here three times. Onviously, the place isn't so bad if I came back to it. However, there is nothing to rave about unless you rave about the ordinary. The coffee is not particularly good but acceptable--just add more sugar sub. I had...the carrot cake there, and, yes, it was just another carrot cake. This last time, a Tuesday afternoon, I waited three minutes for the counter person to come out from the kitchen. The best thing I like about the place is the large windows that look out unto the road. The high ceiling and the old-style chairs give it a vintage kinda look.More

The name says it all. A runcible spoon is a fork with an attitude and this place is a bakery with an attitude. Always willing to drive a bit out of the way for a treat, my son and I crossed the Tappan Zee to...try the 'morning buns' that have been raved about as a cross between a croissant and a cinnamon bun. This muffin shaped croissant isn't bad but the employees make this place quite unpleasant. Not a smile is wasted on customers by these surly folks who seemed to resent anyone who walked in the door or dared to ask for something as simple as a paper plate. Skip this one for sure.More
