One of the best places to eat in the catskills.
The yellow deli is a great place for soups & sandwiches.
My favorite is the "The Long Islander" pairs great with their ice matte in any flavor.
Their restaurant is located overlooking a beautiful stream. You can eat indoors or outdoors.
The decor inside is beautiful handcarved craftsmanship everything is made from trees including the tables. The staff is very friendly.

Great staff, very fiend. Unique menu with local dishes. Great value for what you are getting . Chili was awesome, Chai Tea great, Homemade Veggie Burger super. Interior like nothing you have seen, like eating with Hobbits in Lard of the Rings

Well worth the beautiful 15 minute car ride from Windham area. Food is top notch, wonderful professional staff/service, decor is very charming and interesting. I am so excited to go back when we are in the area to ski soon :)

The interior is certainly interesting, as others have noted, consisting of tree branches worked organically into the seating structure. The food is OK deli food that is good to come upon if you are out in the middle of this lightly populated area. Lack of beer is a downer. More important that that is the question of how you feel about the 12 Tribes religious group running this with unpaid labor. While I am not big on cults in general, it doesn't bother me if a particular group opens a restaurant run by its members -- I do feel those folks should be paid for their labor though. There are other problems with this group that you can look into and weigh on your own.

We were staying at a guest house next door so nice and easy to wonder across the street for dinner. More of a cafe style than restaurant but food v tasty, I had a lovely chilli, and great value.
Decor was lovely - like a treehouse inside, very nicely done, super cosy on a rainy and cooler evening.
No alcohol.
Run by a community and there are other locations across the world.

I was brought here by my 2 friends that are local and they kept telling me how great it was. They did not exaggerate! Had the soup of the day..a large mug of veggies and herbs with a thick slice of their bread. We all ate every spoonful and all we could do was keep say" that was so good". After we had sand wiches..mine was a veggie burger..my eyes grew wider on its arrival. You could just smell how fresh the alfalfa sprouts were and lots of avacado an upsized veggie burger. It was so juicy and tasty and took 2 hands to eat. It was accompanied by a delicious coleslaw and a crispy pickle. I had the root beer (on tap) to drink (yumalicious!) and the crowning jewel..cream cheese pie. I never tasted one before so(since we were already stuffed) we opted to share a piece. It was so light and fluffy topped with fresh strawberries and a hint of honey- unbelievable!! Small wonder my friends bring everyone here to experience this place with it's unique decor & terrific service . We will all be sure to return

My husband and I visited the Yellow Deli in Oak Hill, NY this past week while we were on vacation. This is one of the neatest places I have ever visited. When you first walk through the door it feels as though you've stepped into a fairy tale land. The interior is very whimsical, like a tree house village. The people who work there are extremely pleasant, friendly, and professional. Their mate' teas are amazing, their food is fresh and locally sourced. Their carrot cake was fantastic, sweetened with maple syrup. I loved the rose deli sandwich. We enjoyed it so much we went out of the way a little just to stop by again before we went home.

My wife’s cousin and her husband have been telling my wife and me for a long time that we should eat here. Today we all went for dinner, and the whole experience was five stars plus. We each had a cup of the soup of the day - a tomato basil that was the best I’ve ever tasted. My wife and I shared the soup, the New Yorker (a great pastrami on pumpernickel sandwich) and the cranberry cashew salad. The ladies ordered iced chai’s, and after a taste of my wife’s, I changed my beverage order to one, too. This “deli” will be a “must stop” place anytime we are within 25 miles of it (home is 65 miles away from the Yellow Deli, unfortunately). And aside fro the food, the decor of the building itself is not to be missed. Driftwood railings, tree slab furniture, stained glass windows, outside dining on two levels overlooking the creek behind the building - it all makes for a thoroughly enjoyable dining experience. And the price was reasonable - falling between the cheap eats and mid-range. Our tab with taxes and a 20% tip included was just over $46 with 2 chia’s, the sandwich and salad, and a cup of soup, plus take home of a bowl of the tomato basil soup and 2 raspberry macaroon muffins for tomorrow.

very interesting decor, tree trunk tables, overhangs, variable.
limited menu but everything so tasty. Drinks also--Catskill mint cooler just completely expressed the day.
Best of all, you can sit outside, next to beautiful roaring clean creek. Nobody in any hurry to hasten you along, conversations with fellow diners. Really terrific wait staff, more I'd say colleagues, they were calm, knowledgeable, glad to be there and glad to have you there too

Had a wonderful lunch with my family at the Yellow Deli. I usually come home once a year and the Yellow Deli is always on my adjenda for lunch. Love the inside workmanship and all the employees are delightful to chat with. If you are in the area I recommend you stop and enjoy the Yellow Deli.

We found this deli by accident a few years ago and were passing the area this year so decided to see if it was still there. We were very pleased to see that this quirky little eatery was still open and serving its delicious freshly prepared food. The staff were very chatty and helpful.

I ate several meals at The Yellow Deli and each was freshly prepared. Featured are delicious home baked breads, soups, sandwiches and breakfast all day. I enjoyed their delicious salad of cashews, cranberries and Havarti with mixed greens. Service was excellent, friendly, with no waiting.

We had lunch after making a long trip up to the Catskills and was greeted by a great host. He was patient with us as we settled into the surrounding nature on the back porch. The menu was healthy and full of options with amazing fresh baked bread. On the way out we were presented a small gift for our wedding weekend. We were very thankful to have such an experience.
