When you’re ready to dine out to feel a little better about how things can return to normalcy I suggest starting with the Bavarian Manor. Food is amazing, period. Now for the dining experience. The staff was always compliant to mask and distance requirements but here’s the thing. They were calm, polite, and quite frankly so willing to please their customers it made us feel relaxed and able to enjoy our dinner. Looking forward to returning soon. Thank you everyone at the Bavarian Manor.

I have been wanting to try this restaurant for a while and finally had the chance to. It exceeded my expectations! We had an appetizer, two different entrees, and dessert - all were perfect and authentic (visited Bavaria, Germany last year and the food at Bavarian Manor is so comparable!). We tried the smoked trout appetizer, gypsy schnitzel, paprika schnitzel, and black forest cake. Each entree is served with either a salad or soup of the day. My boyfriend and I both chose the soup of the day (roasted cauliflower cajun bisque), which like the other things we ate, was flavorful and fantastic. Also, we visited on a Friday night which is Happy Hour from 6-8pm - works great with dinner time. Staff were also extremely friendly and service was great. Highly recommend dining here!! Reservations are recommended.

Everything was absolutely perfect. Not one complaint. Very friendly and professional. Food was out of this world honestly. Very clean and all the rooms have everything you can possibly need. Very historical and cozy. Beautiful wrap around porch with the most awesome outside tables and chairs, beautiful decor , garden and mountain view. Area has plenty of places and things to do very near by. Service was absolutely marvelous. Will definitely return. Ray and Diane Tucker 9/8 to 9/11.

We had been to the Manor several times previously. We arrived 7/20/23 for a 5:30 reservation. Terrible service, after asking for water multiple times we were told the goblets were only for napkins as they had bad water. No bartender was on staff, menu was sparse and most items on menu were not available. No mussels, farmers potatoes never delivered, no bloody Mary’s, margaritas, extremely high prices for the quality of food. German food was extremely dry, overcooked. Two of the guests were very sick after returning home. (Both ate the shrimp cocktail) . When we asked for the dessert menu we were informed they had no desserts! No coffee, tea or after dinner drinks offered. We paid the bill and did tip our waitress even though she disappeared most of the time. Only 3 other tables were being served while we were there and 3 waitresses were on staff. VERY DISSATISFIED-VERY EXPENSIVE - NEVER RETURNING! Also charged 3.9% for using a credit card!

Went for dinner with my wife for Greene County Restaurant Week with 3:00 pm reservations. Some woman drops a pitcher of water on the table without pouring it into the glasses already on the table and states that your waitress will be here shortly. It was 20 minutes before the waitress appeared to take our order. Actually, the bartender was the ONLY person on the ball by bringing us a couple of brews as he saw us waiting. We ordered the German flat bread as appetizers and Bratwursts as the entrees. I wanted the Bavarian cream puff for dessert and my wife requested the Apple Pie ala Mode as her dessert as listed on their menu. (see photo) The waitress informed us those were not available and they ONLY had vanilla ice cream and chocolate mousse. If it's ON THE MENU, it should be available. You don't advertise items that aren't on the MENU. The water served us was terrible tasting like unfiltered tap water. Another 20 minutes goes by and here comes our waitress with our ENTREES !! I asked where are the appetizers we ordered ?? "Oh, they didn't bring them out ??", she retorted. I said "No, they didn't." Seriously, if you're our waitress, who's supposed to serve us ?? Now the waitress removes our entrees back to the kitchen and returns with the appetizers. The German flat bread was hard as a rock. The cheese and onion slid off and exposed this rock hard and inedible bread. You couldn't cut it and attempting to chew was a complete joke. My wife said she would crack her teeth on this concoction. (see photo) 15 minutes later, the Brats were served. They were dry, overcooked and tasteless. The previous owners of this restaurant got their Bratwurst, Weisswurst and Bauernwurst from the Apine Pork store in Cairo, NY. These sausages were the REAL DEAL !! Where they found these Brats they're serving, who knows. The original owners served QUALITY food, prepared by QUALITY chefs with a QUALITY staff. This place now has absolutely NO QUALITY. The so called chocolate mousse arrived in a ramekin filled 1/4 from the bottom with the mousse. (see photo) Really ?? 3 Spoonfuls and it's gone. It tasted more like chocolate ice cream and definitely not chocolate mousse. A couple seated at a table to our right, were served the rock hard flatbread. We were amused by their reaction to trying to eat it to no avail. We were here for 2 HOURS. It's 5:00 pm and we just wanted to leave. I gave her my debit card and she retorted with: "Just to let you know, there's a 3.95% upcharge for using a credit/debit card." I said alright as we just wanted out of this place !! So, now they nickel-and-dime you with a surcharge. 10 minutes later, the waitress comes to the table with some electronic device with my card plugged in showing the total amount. And it only gets better, on the device it states if you want to leave a 20% or 25% or 30% tip !! The audacity, what happened to a 10%, 15% and 20% tip ??? I told the waitress I always leave a cash tip. I did and will never return to the establishment.

The food was absolutely great. We started with potato pancakes as an appetizer followed by the Prime Rib Special. Soup and salad were fresh and tasty. Spaetzle dumplings were very good. Finishing off with our desserts. Everything was great, our waitress was very attentive. One star rating off due to the lack of staff enforcing the mask mandate. Throughout our meal, a young woman seated at a table of four, repeatedly got up from the table, passing by our table with her mask on her neck not covering her nose and mouth. Another woman patron from another table had a mask dangling from her one ear when she left her table. I can't understand inconsiderate patrons who don't care for anyone but themselves and think they can do anything they want. This is a Pandemic, just WEAR your mask when you leave the table. The restaurant staff did not express any concern regarding these female patrons, hence the 4 star review.

My husband and I held a vow renewal ceremony here with about 20 guests. Cocktail hour, dinner, all guests stayed at the Inn.
Could not have asked for better food - my husband is still talking about the chicken wings. Hospitality, service, food graciousness. If you are looking for a place that makes you feel at home the minute you walk through the door, then the is the place for you.

This is primarily a German Cuisine establishment but we visited on Thursday Night which is Prime Rib night and for $20 we got a huge Prime Rib that you could cut with a butter knife accompanied by fresh zucchini, carrots and a baked or mashed potato.Everything was top notch. The price even included a soup or salad. I chose the salad which was fresh and topped with blue cheese dressing which is homemade.Believe it or not a choice of desserts also accompanied dinner. I enjoyed a delightful green Creme de Menthe ice cream parfait, the perfect finish to a delicious dinner. The only thing not included in the dinner price was an appetizer of steamer clams at $12.50. Surprised to get such good seafood so far from the coast.
The historic& Classic surroundings were built as "The White Sulphur Springs House" at the end of the 19th century. The current owners (the Bauer family) have served generations of Catskill Vacationers since 1931.The interior of this Victorian Inn & Restaurant is positively elegant and that alone makes a visit a must. I have to agree with criticism that service is slow but that is par for the course in the Catskills where patrons are vacationers and not in a rush. They are open Thur: 5-8, Fri&Sat: 5-9 and Sun from 1pm-8pm.I will definitely be back as this is probably the classiest dining spot in the Catskills.

A couple with whom we are friendly suggested that we have an early dinner at the Bavarian Manor. It was very, very good and we are indebted to them for the suggestion. The ambiance was superb in a lovely dining room which maintained an acceptable noise level even as the number of diners increased. Service was quite good and the food most excellent. I would recommend this to anyone looking for an unusually satisfying dinner.
There was quite adequate parking when we arrived on a Thursday evening. Comfortable chairs made my wait for our party to assemble pleasant.

It's hard to find a good German Restaurant. The Bavarian Manor has an excellent selection of food. They also have several German beers on draft. The atmosphere is very nice and the staff was superb!

My wife and I celebrated Valentine's Day at The Bavarian Manor. They had dinner specials and desserts for the occasion. Hannah was our server, she was very polite and attentive. We started with 3 potato pancakes each for an appetizer, they were huge. Followed by salads and bread rolls. For an entree, we both chose the Broiled Seafood Trio Feast which consisted of shrimp, scallops and filet of sole in a lemon butter sauce. Excellent meal. No room for desserts, but they looked very inviting.

We eat here at least 6x per year. The Weiner Schnitzel is my favorite. We have also enjoyed the Short Rib special, We have celebrated birthdays and anniversaries, never leave hungry.
My biggest disappointment is the brands of white wines served, they taste like vinegar, stick to the German beers.
We find the staff to be friendly and attentive. You can't really go wrong here.

Hardy food on a winter night for sure. Hearty portions and friendly service, good beer selection and classic German food. Not the best I’ve ever had but good, overall. We had stuffed mushrooms for an app, which were flavorful if a bit over cooked. The sauerbraten was a hit disappointing as the meat hadn’t marinated enough and tasted like roast beef with sauerbraten sauce. The red cabbage was the blandest we’ve ever tasted too. We also tried the Wiener schnitzel which was tender but uninspired. We wonder if it was fried in butter or a fryer. The gypsy schnitzel was a delicious choice, nicely seasoned and accompanied by homemade spaetzle that were a bit heavy but yummy. Overall it was satisfying and I’ll be back to try the wursts platter and potato pancakes someday.

We went here because of the good Trip Advisor reviews. I was quite excited to try the place. I am completely puzzled as to why this restaurant gets such good ratings. The service was outstandingly slow. The food is as authentic German as popcorn - whipped butter and brioche bread for example. The vegetables looked and tasted as if they’d been microwaved yesterday and then half-reheated to serve. My duck was soggy and sickly, and my mashed potatoes were drowned in gravy.
The look of the place was nice, as were the table spacings and layout.
