We only stopped in for drinks but it was definitely a nice place to stop into. It has a lot of history and we met some locals that told us a bit about the place. Drinks are cheap and atmosphere is cool.

The new owners have brought back the old menu and and have also brought back the old decor. Quite a welcome change.

Delicious food. Mainly American Fare. Usually get steak - especially like London Broil Sandwich - ask for gravy. Raw clams are my favorite and are reasonable priced. Nice cozy ambiance. Great for everyone. Great staff and efficient service - will help you make the movie next door. I think prices went unreasonably up for most dishes.

Whether it's a fabulous burger or one of many variety of wings, everything is great at Foster's. Still old world character with great food. The clams were sensational! Tasted like the ocean -- in a good way! Fresh and steamed to perfection. Their salads are huge and every ingredient is fresh

Went here for lunch...second visit. Came back for the spicey BBQ wings...but, found they do not offer the spicey BBQ sauce anymore as it was a secret recepie belonging to the former chef...oh well, the food is still great as is the service...

We rented a house in Rhinebeck for 7 days. We ate at numerous restaurants & all were very dis-appointing. Too dark & the wooden benches very un-comfortable. My shrimp scampi had no garlic & the shrimp were way over cooked & rubbery. Literally no taste at all. The chicken parm. was burnt. The baked potatoes were old & not the... More

With nice weather, we ate at outside patio. It was clean and off the Main Street a bit, so not so noisy. We had a Cali Burger and a Sliced London Broil Sandwich. Both were cooked med rare as we asked. Both were served with delicious sides of our choosing. Coleslaw was tasty. We ordered Bacon Blue Steak Fries as... More

We have been dining at Foster's Coach House for years. After I read about the shakeup between the owner and staff, who all quit, this was the beginning of the end of this restaurant. Since the original chef left and Foster's had closed for quite some time, they came out with a new menu under the new chef. We first... More

There was some renovations recently and change of staff, I used to go on a regular basis, but have tried returning. The prices are higher than before, and the menu does not include some previous favorites, like clams on the half shell. I miss the booths and the more modernized" dinning area, does not provide the same cozy feel, like having all those new... More

Greetings from Foster's! Sorry that you missed the Clams On The Half Shell...we always have them on the menu. Look under Appetizers. By the way, we have Blue Point Oysters, too. Staff does change from time to time as our long-time staff retires. So glad that you remember them fondly. It will just take a bit of time to get... More

Ever one who knew Bob, misses Bob. However, Foster's Coach House continues with Bob's philosophy of fresh, fairly priced food cooked to perfection served with a smile. We KNOW you'll be back when you tire of trendy food. Thank you for your comments, and remembrance of Bob! More
