One really hesitates to review Bigelow's because more people will want to visit! The fried clams are out of this world! I think this place is busy, busy every night! The parking area is small, but people are willing to wait to have their fried clams. They are the best on Long Island.

Fried seafood that is fresh and good in a clam bar atmosphere. Quick service with food prepared in front of you. Not for those who are counting cholesterol.

Bigelow's has a great history, a great story, a great look and a great menu. Regrettably, the food is not nearly as great. The bisque and Manhattan clam chowder were acceptable, the fried cod was unseasoned and flavorless, the fried clams and oysters were plump, but also lacked seasoning and flavor. The two stars are for the history and authentic... More

As I visit Cape Cod very often, I have enjoyed many "fast-food" fried seafood dishes that so many "hole-in-the wall" places seem to offer. Bigelow's is a small, converted home that has become a well known fried fish "hole-in-the-wall" restaurant. The reviews say it all! So, I ordered to go as I worked late. Boston Cod, Clams and Scallops all... More

Best fried fish you will find. The Manhattan clam chowder is awesome. Highly suggested the Buffalo calamari. It's fried fish that's fresh and awesome. Non foodies don't bother you won't find anything you can "adjust" it's just good foodie food.

Love this place family style environment and great fried clams. They only accept cash no credit cards at all which a set you off a bit but the food is great. They also have homemade pies which is amazing. Very small restaurant only bar like seating mainly known for take out.

Excellent New England Fried Seafood. The Belly Clams are delicious, perfectly fried to order. This time we discovered that the Crab Cakes and Calamari are also just as good. The Clam Chowder and Seafood Bisque can be ordered to go, if you can't wait for a seat at the Counter. A little more expensive, as it is seafood. Cash only.... More

The food here is excellent. If you want a taste of what New England food is like this is the place. It has an old fashioned feel with counter service full of conversation between patrons and work staff. The chowder is awesome. Can be expensive but worth it.

In the 1930s and 40's people used to stop by this small clam house on the way home from the beach and indulge in eating-in or taking out LI seafood fare. Well, this place has that 1930s - 40s charm. The food is still good, but you'll sit at a counter, (no tables) look at all the memorabilia, and drift... More
