I've never been disappointed in a meal here, and there veggie burger is one of the best I've had anywhere. But I do find the tiny splash of wine in the enormous glass an annoying way of assuring the server will return and ask if you'd like a refill. I always stop at one glass and at $10 (high for... Stopped in after finding out the 1850 tavern didn't open until 4 pm on a Sunday (I found that a bit strange). Waitress was polite and responsive. Ordered the avocado BLT-yummy. My wife had the veggie burger-very nice. They had a varied selection of tap beer. A good variety. I'll be bringing friends here next time we return. Ate on... More

Our host at 1850 Tavern and Inn recommended this restaurant. It was a great rec. It all starts with the people for me and our server was terrific. Abiding by our gluten free life style she guided us through and around the menu. Our entrees were served hot and fresh. The first bite said "welcome home". I had the trout... More

We tried the Bywater Bistro last night for the first time. Our daughter recently moved to the area and recommended that we check out the town of Rosendale as we are always on the lookout for outdoor places to eat. This place is a gem. Their backyard garden is just delightful where they have a fountain of running water. We... More

For the prices, we expected much better service. After taking our order, our otherwise very friendly server told us she'd return with utensils and something to nibble on. She never brought them. Finally a bus boy brought us two pieces of bread and a dip but no utensils. When they brought our food and utensils, we had to ask for... More

Everywhere you go in the Hudson Valley, the restaurants are serving farm-to-fork / locally sourced food, and this was no exception. Great Hudson Valley duck, and the best sweet potato mash ever.

The best thing about Bywater Bistro is the beautiful outdoor dining in back. If you are looking for someplace to have a nice meal or a drink around Rosendale, this is a great spot. Not to say the food is bad - it's actually good - but I you just can't beat the surroundings. A few vegetarian options are on... More

A great go to spot on Main Street. Bywater has a warm host, Sean that makes everyone at home. They have a lovely covered porch surrounded by blooming orchids that make is a great spot for special occasions.

Other than the 1850 House, might be the 2nd best option to eat. We ordered bar food and it was your typical fare. Good options for all though. Cute outdoor patio in the back

We went our first night in Rosendale. Active bar scene. Waiter recommended the burger, and it was one of the best ever. Grilled over a fire with that great, smoky taste.
