25 years and we keep going back. Great bar! The restaurant has great food, although we do prefer to eat at the bar. Wonderful soups (Seafood bisque!). Great burgers and terrific house steak. Everything is always done well!

Runyon's has been around forever! The staff is excellent and really tends to the table. Booths are all private so you can't see everyone else and you can hear and enjoy the conversation at your table. Food is good pub food, wine list could use a few good choices... but who goes to a pub for good wine, lol!

Have stopped here on several occasions after driving home sober. It is the most friendliest neighborhood bar and restaurant to enjoy. We are strangers here but the customers always are outgoing but respectfull. No agenda but friendly smiles. Food is great here as well.

Runyon's is not in our neighborhood - we live on the north shore, but whenever we want to get together with friends on the south shore for a casual dinner with great food, great people who work there, and a place that will not break the bank....we come to Runyon's. The food is always so good, especially their burgers (they've... More

My friend and I took a much needed night out. The dinner and service was excellent. We had not been here in a long time. I was pleasantly surprised to see they still put a crudite dish on the table. We had salads that were large and fresh. The grilled chicken was perfectly cooked.

We just closed on our house and the lawyer suggested going right down the street to Runyons for lunch. It was a dark pub with music perhaps a tiny bit too loud. We were seated in a booth which was surprisingly bright. Our waitress, Christine, was top notch. At 3:30 I think we were her only customers and she really... More

Step into Runyon's and you'll quickly forget about the cars cruising along Merrick Road just outside. Half of Runyon's is a bar large enough to accommodate two or three softball teams and a popcorn machine. The other half is an informal seafood restaurant and grill with cozy booths. There are plenty of options if you just want something to nosh on with your beer; not just wings and chili, but more exotic choices like kung po squid and fried brie. A signature item is the pizetta, prepared with clams, buffalo-style chicken, spinach or pesto, stone-baked on a seasoned pita. There is also a slew of seafood, steaks, burgers, sandwiches and pasta selections, all satisfactory enough for former Newsday/Long Island Press columnist Ed Lowe to mention the place in his essays whenever he gets the chance. -- J.
