The waitress was professional and personable. The food came out in a timely manner. I gave it 3 because the portions I feel are a bit small for the money you pay. Food tastes good but no wow factor. Maybe lunch would be a better...idea.More

When you try to speak with the owner about a problem with the service and he’s too drunk and belligerent to address it without getting in your face... well. It was a pretty good place. Then. Not now.

Located a few hundred feet from a small-engine runway, Nu-Cavu has one of the most unique views you can find. Piper planes taking off as you enjoy the great Onion Soup (one of the best in my book), Ahi-tuna, stuffed zucchini flowers, calamari, and more....Excellent selection of local craft beers and wine as well!More

This turned out to be a great restaurant. There was a huge party in one room which made us nervous about the wait time. But our waitress, Melissa, was fantastic. I had the wedge salad with blue cheese dressing followed by the mussels. Excellent. Lovely...setting. All in all a great venue and wonderful meal. Thanks to Melissa for making it a great evening. The only drawback was the very rowdy bar crowd watching football and yelling at the top of their lungs. It would have been nicer if they kept the doors closed between the two rooms. Luckily, the game ended and the crowd left.More

Food good, outdoor space inviting. Service good. Tables of all sizes. Nice indoor space as well. May even catch a plane or parachuter while having a meal. Very cool!

Went out with family and friends for our vacation night out dinner. The restaurant itself was beautiful. Way more ambiance than we had expected. Our server was very attentive, and the drinks were fairly decent and reasonably priced. However, not one of us like our...meal. The 8 of us got 6 different things, and while none of it was bad i don’t think any of us would order it again. My husband had a gorgonzola pasta dish that had very little flavor. My friends swordfish was decent. My son had chicken parmigiana which was ok, but i have had much better. I ate a chicken with ham and ricotta cheese. It also lacked much flavor. Overall its too bad. We really wanted to like the place. I would also say the food was overpriced for the quality. We probably will not go back.More

We went there to hear a wonderful jazz guitarist who had moved into the area from upstate, NY. Had never been there before and it turns out that we will definitely be returning. It’s a lot larger than expected and beautiful inside. The staff were...friendly and helpful, especially Theresa and Gia. The food was excellent and my wife said it was the best pasta dish she had ever had eating out. I had the veal margarita a special and it was very good, next time I might ask if I can switch out the baked potato for a small pasta side. It made a great first impression and we’re excited to bring or tell friends about it, who might never have been there.More

I visited for my birthday in July with my husband since I have heard great things about it. I ordered the Paella and it was fantastic so it was the sangria. The inside was lovely and they should put a bit more of effort in...the outside. Other than that service was excellent.More

As a local aviator, the fact that Nu-CAVU (acronym for "ceiling and visibility unlimited" sides astride the sole runway at Kobelt Airport was the initial draw. But more often than not we drive to this gem so that I can drink alcohol, a "no-no" if...one intends to fly out afterwards. No matter, either way the food is consistently very good, although the service has been spotty when the place is busy as on weekends. A busy bar popular with locals and the sky diving crowd as the airport's owner (not the restaurant's I think) also owns The Ranch skydiving airport just northwest in Gardiner, NY. Great roast duckling, my favorite here, a yummy appetizers. Dining outside on a nice day in the summer or fall is a treat,if, like me you are entertained by the light aircraft coming and going just a few yards to the west of your table. Check it out!More

Food and drink was good. Service was good except it took quite some time to get our food. We eat there about every other month.

I stopped in for a couple of beers and appetizers. I had the mussels and steamed clams. The clams and steamers were cooked to perfection. They give you very large portions. The NU CAVU has a dining area, outside area and a full bar. There...is something here for everyone. You can also see the airport runway and an occasional airplane or helicopter.More
